Phosbans porous structure has a high surface area with many absorption sites to bind large quantities of phosphate. Phosban also absorbs silicate, arsenic and water staining organic compounds. Neither phosphate nor any other substances are released back into the water, even after full saturation. Phosban is safe to use continuously in freshwater and saltwater aquariums and ponds.
Phosban can be rinsed briefly before use but do not stir as it is friable and it will pulverise the granules. Phosban can be used in an upflow filter, flow must be reduced as granules should not tumble, or can be placed in a media bag between two layers of filter floss in any kind of flow through filter or filter chamber.
- Suitable for marine and freshwater aquariums.
- Dosage: 50g per 200L saltwater, 50g per 400L freshwater.
