Common Questions About the Bach 34918C
Is the Bach 34918C the same as a trumpet mouthpiece?
No. The 34918C is a cornet mouthpiece model; cornet shanks and receiver fit can differ from trumpet, so it is intended for cornet use unless your instrument specifically matches this shank.
What does “18C” mean on a Bach cornet mouthpiece?
“18C” identifies the cup and rim specification within Bach’s numbering system. On this model it is paired with a medium cup depth and a 15.10mm cup diameter.
What finish is this mouthpiece, and what does that change for the player?
This mouthpiece is silver plated. Silver plate is a common choice for its familiar feel on the embouchure and for easy maintenance with routine cleaning and polishing.
