Before the match, the All Blacks performed their well-known starting ritual, the Haka, to which the Welsh crowd responded with the Welsh national anthem. This was the first time a national anthem had been sung before a sporting fixture. Wales won the match 3-0, being the only loss for the All Blacks on their 35-match tour.
