The Higher Things® "Here I Stand" Vacation Bible School (VBS) focuses on Confession. General Confession and Absolution is something that the students will be familiar with since this takes place every Sunday the Lord’s Supper is received. Beyond this, some churches may offer the Service of Corporate Confession and Absolution (LSB 290–291). A smaller number of churches and pastors may even have time set aside for Private Confession and Absolution (LSB 292–293).We have taken the approach of simply letting the Lord’s Words and the Catechism teach what Confession is. Even children of Preschool age are not too young to answer the question, “What is Absolution?” with the answer that it is “Forgiveness from the pastor as from God Himself.”
All Higher Things® VBS programs are packed with features including...
- Opening and Closing Worship using Daily Orders of Prayer adapted from those found in Lutheran Service Book.
- Bible Breakaways that teach and reinforce the day's bible story in a fun and humorous way.
- Catechism Study where participants will attend various restaurants and dinner parties as they learn about what gifts Jesus gives Confession and Absolution.
- Snacks, Games, and Crafts that all reinforce the theme of the day with opportunities for discussing "What Does This Mean?"
- Music selection for each day drawn from the liturgy and hymns of Lutheran Service Book. MP3 organ accompaniment files are provided to assist in learning and singing the music.
- Preschool materials with Bible stories, games, and crafts geared for the youngest of the young in your program.
- Adult Bible Studies to lead grownups and older youth in the study of the same bible stories and Catechism lessons.
- Director's and Leaders' Guides for each section of the program, complete with material and supply lists, lesson outlines, and helpful hints and tricks for organizing and running your VBS program for Preschool through upper elementary grades using either a morning or evening schedule. Designed to include the older youth of the congregation as assistants, reinforcing the annual Higher Things Conference Theme.
- Higher Things' great formula of "Worship, Work and Fun" adapted to the younger kids for a week. They can "Dare to Be Lutheran" and have a blast while they do!

Stylish and functional.

First, I love the color. Earth tones are my go to. This is a nice shade of olive green.
The design is stylish. Minimalistic is also my preference. It’s very much form and function.
So I’ve mostly used this hiking. It’s big enough to store everything I needed for longer or overnight trips. I had a light jacket, sunscreen, flashlight, bug spray, several bags of snacks, a book, wipes and a water bottle. I could have packed more honestly. It’s waterproof and the material doesn’t snag or scratch.
I’ve also used it for travel, mostly for my art supplies. It’s sturdy so my sketch book doesn’t bend. Theres a dozen different pockets and compartments, so everything can be separated from each other.
The size is good, the strap lengths are long and easily adjustable. The only downside is the compartment for a water bottle or travel mug is pretty tight. Other than that I like it a lot.

Good solid backpack

I’m really happy with this backpack. It fits my Lenovo Legion 5 16'' perfectly with just a little room to spare, but not so much that the laptop shifts around. The material feels sturdy and durable, and the waterproof design gives me peace of mind when I’m out and about.
The travel strap on the back is a huge plus for me—it makes traveling so much more comfortable. There’s also plenty of space for my things, and I can easily use it as a weekend bag for 1–2 days without it feeling bulky.
The price is not bad, for the quality you receiving is honestly really good. If you’re looking for a reliable, well‑made backpack with lots of room, this one is a great choice.

A really nice one!

This was so close to perfect for me! Love the fabric, the structure and the setup. I just didn't love the really thick padded laptop pocket. It made the bag bulky than necessary and I don't usually carry a laptop.

Professional, functional, and cute!
