Triglav is a new accessory in the Zieta Studio’s portfolio. It is a three-arm steel candle holder, reminiscent of a gothic cathedrals’ towers. Its form is simple and complex, delicate and stable at the same time.

It was created using FiDU – the technology of creating tridimensional metal forms out of two-dimensional sheets.

Slender and soaring

Triglav’s essence lies in juxtaposing two contradictory qualities: the cool nature of polished steel with the organic shapes of tree-like arms that “grow up” from the base becoming the soaring columns. This candelabrum’s unusual shape makes the act of lighting candles a truly mystic experience.

Inspired by gothic vaults

Although Triglav candelabrum is yet another bionic form from Zieta Collection – its form is rooted in the history of architecture. The arch shape being central for the Triglav’s harmony and balance, it has been inspired by the Gothic vaults. The ogival arch, on the other hand, is related to the architectural interpretation of the structure of tree crowns and interconnected branches forming arched forms. This theory of the interconnection of architecture and nature finds its historical basis in such writings as Vitruvius’ De architectura or Tacitus’ De Germania.

The Triglav’s unobvious form is thus an allusion both to the world of nature and the rules of architectural construction.

The harmony of asymmetrical trinity

Thanks to its asymmetrical shape, the Triglav candle holder is full of unexpected opportunities. Depending on the point of view, it presents its different aspects and reveals its many faces. The geometric, pure form makes it a contemporary decorative object that will adorn a table and an elegant sideboard. With or without the candles inside, it will impress with its exquisite sculptural openwork volumen.
