This is a 100% Handmade, Vintage Wool Flat-weave Cicim (embroidered) Kilim Rug, made in the Central Anatolia - Konya region, Turkey by Tribal Weavers up to 60 years ago. Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This rug features traditional motif Diamond / Lozenge Pattern design enhancement, in red, blue, green, orange and white, on a plain, blackish brown, flatweave background. Cicim rugs are not reversible and, generally, benefit from the use of a rug pad or non-slip underlay to prevent movement on smooth surfaces or high traffic areas
