Meet Rio Carnival

Bright, joyful, and full of movement, Rio Carnival is part of the Honeymoon® Series — hellebores selected for strong growth, abundant blooms, and standout color. These 1-gallon, well-established plants produce eye-catching single flowers measuring 2½–3 inches, featuring soft light yellow petals heavily speckled with rich burgundy red for a festive, confetti-like effect.

Blooming in late winter, Rio Carnival brings weeks of cheerful color just as the garden begins to stir. Hellebores are true harbingers of spring, often flowering for six weeks or more, and are commonly known as Lenten Rose for their traditional bloom time during the season of Lent.

This variety is especially well suited for naturalizing in moist, woodland settings, where its extensive root system can gradually spread and establish. Like all hellebores, Rio Carnival is evergreen, deer-resistant, and easy to grow — thriving in part to full shade and returning reliably year after year. ⛅
