Third Reich Political Leader Visor Cap (Orts Level)-This is a great looking example of a political leader’s visor cap for a leader in the ORT level of government, which means it is piped in blue. Remember there were four levels of the NSDAP Political government, similar to how we have things today in the states. There is the local level (towns and cities) which is called ORT, The KREIS or Kreisleitung level which is Districts or German counties. The GAU or Gauleitung which is the Regional level (German states and their provinces). REICH is the national government similar to our Federal government level. The piping is a light blue color and some very slight moth damage. This cap has a beautiful saddle shape. It is produced in tricot woven wool which is excellent, with very minor wear and discoloration only. The brown velvet center band is damage free, as is the beautiful celleon officer’s chin cord. The beautifully gold gilted finish on the eagle has a very nice tone, with the original finish is mostly intact. The gilt finish on the stylized wreath has a nice matte gold tone with some minor finish loss.  The enameled cockade is in good condition, with minor wear only. The dark brown vuklanfibre visor shows minor fading and has crosshatching on the underside. The interior of this size stamped 56 cap has a complete moisture shield, and a mostly complete sweatband. The sweatband is fragile, so be careful with it and there are some tears etc. There is an oil cloth RZM tag under the sweatband. A very good offering!
