What lies beneath the surface? The unique biodiversity underwater has always fascinated me - especially in the ocean. What's equally fascinating are the different feelings it evokes for others. Some people are afraid to swim in the water if it's too murky, too dark, too deep, etc. Others are afraid of what might be in it. Others are drawn to it, because they're curious. Some folks just want to sit near the water, but don't care much about exploring in it.

I love to snorkel in the ocean and observe everything. The eel that keeps peering out through the coral. The colorful fish that swim together. The stonefish hiding in the sand. The urchins, lobster, crabs, sponges, and more. It's all so beautiful and magical!

I got this footage of a sea turtle a couple years ago when I was swimming at the beach and messing with my GoPro. Honestly, I was just there to play in the waves and potentially capture pictures of water that I could paint later. But then a HUGE sea turtle suddenly swam by me! It was such a delight to watch it slowly cruise by!

This painting captures the beautiful dancing reflections and refractions of sunlight with the turtle swimming by. I hope you like it!
