• 【About the Dual Fixtures】The weighted base is made of sand-stuffed ABS case. It is heavy enough to support the lamp in ordinary using senarios. However it will tilt over when the swivel arm is horizontally extended far (due to the heavy real glass). To make it more stable you may place something heavy above the base. If you need it horizontally stretched, you may use the desk clamp that allows it to firmly stay at any possible angle without tilting over. In short, if you use it as a table lamp most of the time, stand base is more portable; if you use magnifier function frequently, clamp is better as it delivers absolute stability.
• 【Choice of Magnification】This lamp comes with as advertised 5D real glass lens (2.25x by lineal sense, 5x by areal, 4'' focal length) in moderate size for versatile usability. For large sized magnifier, 5-D is the most versatile and common setting while 3-D (1.75x, longer focal length) is less common, limited in its magnication in certain cases; 10x would be barely possible to use as a magnifier (basically false advertising).
