-This Tree’s Origin-

This Elm tree grew in the yard of the Gamma Phi Beta house on Hilyard St. in downtown Eugene. After the tree fell during a storm into the Millrace in 2016, Seth and friends at Paraclete Projects climbed into the water to wire tie the giant tree. After fishing it out, the guys were then treated to a buffet-style lunch by the sorority as a token of their gratitude. Now revitalized with our modern mid-century hair pin legs, these kidney-shaped nesting tables work perfectly in any residential or commercial space.

 

The item pictured is custom built and one-of-a-kind. Your product will vary slightly in color, shape, and inlay placement. No two trees are alike and therefore no two tables will be exactly alike. That is the beauty of a natural product.

Griffin found: "I found my very soul had acclimated to the natural world, and I was completely in tune with the Earth and the sky and the water surrounding me." Such an inspiring memoir! Three middle-aged women hike the mighty John Muir Trail, the crown jewel of California that covers over 200 miles of steep and rocky terrain in the Sierra. It was a big deal. The 3-week wilderness trip extended over multiple, high-elevation passes, crossed roaring water and rose to the summit of Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous US at 14, 505 feet. Griffin’s storytelling comes naturally and with ease. This inspirational, follow-your-dreams story is easy to feel surrounded by because of Griffin’s vivid writing. Luscious accounts of landscapes, macro details of the natural world and the knee-knocking, quad-stabbing terrain puts you, the reader, right there. Conversely, the detailed prose is a huge liability in the pacing of this book. Mundane details are redundant as the book slogs on. Long descriptions overtake the read and the focus stays superficial. I would have liked much more character development, and better cadence and dialogue.
