PM08-CAN: The Power Module for Drones That Actually Do Heavy Lifting

So, you’re building a drone big enough to require its own postcode, and you’re worried about the power system turning into a very expensive flare? Welcome to the PM08-CAN. It supports up to 14S (60.9V), which is probably more voltage than your flight controller’s therapist would recommend. With DroneCAN communication, we’ve replaced messy analogue signals with digital precision, because it’s the 21st century and we’re tired of calibration dancing.

Why You Want It

Most power modules give up the ghost when you ask for more than 50 Amps. This one laughs in 200A continuous. It’s got a galvanically isolated current sensor (AEC-Q100 Grade 1, for the spec-sheet sniffers) which means your electrical noise stays where it belongs—away from your sensitive flight controller. It’s also got more heat dissipation than a British person during a 25-degree "heatwave," thanks to its sleek aluminium shell. Honestly, it’s more stable than your last relationship.

Specs

  • Processor: STM32F405RG (Faster than the logic you used to justify this purchase)
  • Voltage Input: 7V ~ 60.9V (2S to 14S LiPo)
  • Continuous Current: 200A (Real amps, not "marketing" amps)
  • Burst Current: 400A for 1 sec (For when you really need to punch it)
  • Current Sensing: Up to 376A (For those who like to live on the edge)
  • Protocol: DroneCAN (Wires are so 2014)
  • BEC Output: Dual 5.3V/3A Independent ports (Because one is never enough)
  • Weight: 185g (Including cables, because we aren't liars)
  • Dimensions: 45mm x 41mm x 26mm

In the Box

  • 1x PM08-CAN Power Module (The heavy lifter)
  • 1x 8 AWG High-Strand Silicon Wire set
  • XT90 Connectors & Ring Terminals (Choose your own adventure)
  • Molex CLIK-Mate 2mm 6Pin cables

Compatibility

Perfectly suited for PX4 and ArduPilot users who value their sanity. If you're using a flight controller with a CAN port, you're in business. If you aren't, why are you even looking at 14S hardware?

Highlights

  • Galvanic Isolation: Keeps the spicy electricity away from the brainy bits.
  • High-Efficiency Cooling: An aluminium shell that actually does something besides look pretty.
  • Software Toggle: CAN termination resistance can be toggled via software. Fancy.
  • LED Status: A blinky light that tells you if you've actually connected it right.

Notes

The status LED will flash quickly if it's waiting for a firmware update. If it flashes slowly, it's connected and happy. If it’s on fire, you’ve done something very wrong. Always check your polarity unless you enjoy the smell of burnt STM32s in the morning.

Disclaimer

Don't blame us if your drone develops a personality. Handle high voltage with the respect it deserves, or it will bite back.

Works great
Ive broken so many manual can openers from sheer strength and this eliminates that issue not only because it no longer needs my input but because this device actually works! Would definitely recommend it. Usb c charging is a god send, no batteries!

Good product
Let me tell you just how much I love this can opener. I am 80 yrs old and the hand opener was becoming a real challenge to use, this is sooooooo easy, holds it's charge for a long time and the lids don't have any rough edges. Great product for an excellent price.

It worked on all size of cans
Eh pretty good for the whopping 3 weeks I had it. Came home one day and it was broken. It still operated. As in all functions were there but it wouldn't latch onto cans anymore. I think one of my adult kids dropped it. Honestly surprised motor still operated after it's drop.

Didn't work out for me after a few uses.
Broke after only like 5 uses...not worth the money. Doesn't stay sharp nor does it auto-clamp onto cans after such uses. Thought it worked only to find out it didn't cut the can and left little metal shavings from just kinda "scratching" the can and I ended up getting a splinter. Thought it was low on battery and fully charged only for it to keep not cutting the can. Trashed it just gonna buy a regular stand up from walmart or something.
