I was fully aware that I could never repay the loan I took to save my sick aunt, but I had to do it anyway. To repay my debt, I was sold into slavery, but I was sent to the court of the Elven King and became his assistant.
The Elven King is wealthy, extremely handsome, and brilliant, so finding someone to marry him shouldn't be difficult. The only problem is that he rejects all the candidates, which makes my job as his assistant challenging.
When he proposes a fake marriage to get the council off his back, I can't refuse: with a war looming over the kingdom, and after discovering my magical nature, it is my only hope of survival.
Forming a marriage of convenience with the Elven King to gain protection shouldn't be a bad plan... as long as I don't fall in love with him.
