Our Fire-End Sales Team

Wildland firefighters subject themselves to one of the most physically demanding jobs in the world, requiring both physical and mental toughness to face the challenging and ever-changing conditions experienced with wildland firefighting. You need a boot that can match the challenges you face, that is as tough as you are. The new Missoula 2.1 women's firefighting boots are up to that task and more and are certified NFPA 1977 for wildland firefighting.

✔ Leg Height: inside 8”/from floor 9”

✔ HAIX® 2-Zone Lacing

✔ Hydrophobic and breathable split leather

✔ (SL) Secura Liner

The HAIX® Missoula 2.1 women's fire boots were built to meet the exacting demands of the wildland firefighter. The durably tough European split bull leather is water-resistant, hydrophobic, and breathable to keep your feet as comfortable as possible. The lighter weight of the Missoula 2.1 helps to alleviate leg fatigue while on long hikes, since the less weight you have on your feet, the less energy you have to expend while walking. Offering not only safety protection but comfort, for those who can spend all day on their feet in the most rugged of terrain.

Our newly designed highly heat resistant, Vibram®, the anti-slip sole will give you greater footholds on whatever terrain you have to face. The special design of the heel offers strong footholds on even the steepest and uneven terrain. And the sturdy and stable midsole ensures you won’t feel every rock and stone as you hike. We also added a built-in boot jack at the rear of the boot to make it easier for you to get your wildland firefighting boots off after a long day.

Our two-zone lacing system allows you to adjust the tension separately on different sections of the boot, the upper and the lower part. You are able to adjust the boot for a fit tailored just for you and the terrain in which you are hiking. For mainly downward descents, tighten the upper and the lowers evenly to prevent your foot from sliding forward into the boot. For mainly upward ascents, leave the upper a little looser so the upper does not constrict your shin. The two-zone lacing also provides better ankle support to prevent potential ankle injuries out on the line. The new roller ball eyelets on the lower part of the lacing system offer minimal friction, reducing wear and tear on the flame-resistant Nomex® laces.

Missoula 2.1 women's wildland firefighting boots are available in narrow, medium, and wide widths with whole and half sizes from 5-10.

Now’s the time to try out the latest generation Missoula 2.1, see and feel the difference.

      Very soft and comfortable
      Color: Black, Size: 1 inch
I really love this yoga mat. It has the perfect balance of comfort and support, so it feels soft enough on my joints but still stable for workouts and stretching. It doesn’t slide around on the floor, which makes me feel more secure during poses. The grip is really good even when I start to sweat, and it’s easy to roll up and store when I’m done. I also like that it’s thick enough to cushion my knees and back. Overall, it makes my workouts more comfortable and enjoyable, and I actually look forward to using it.

      As Advertised.
      Color: Boysenberry, Size: 1 inch
The boysenberry color is pretty. The Retrospec mat is odor-free, 7/8” thick (so close enough), dense, and non-slip on my wood floor. I wanted the density to cushion pressure points whilst performing various core exercises and general stretching on the floor. It works well for my purpose. I agree with other commenters, the 1” thick mat is too unstable for yoga. That said, the slight instability makes this mat useful for developing balance and core stability by balancing on uneven surfaces, similar to the benefits of walking on grass or trails. The mat is easily nicked by long nails (human and animal) rocks, sticks etc. so pay attention to where you set it up; however not a deal-breaker for my use. I originally looked at the BalanceFrom GoCloud mat because it is the mat that appears in several online reviews with a link to Amazon. However, once on Amazon, I noticed remarkable similarities between the GoCloud and Retrospec reviews. I suspect both mats are identical just with a different brand name and sold by different companies. I ultimately went with the Retrospec mat because the Retrospec is sold and shipped by Amazon so the benefits and protections of “Amazon Prime”, including free returns, apply. The GoCloud mat could be returned however according to the fine print, if the return wasn’t due to Seller’s error the return might be subject to a restocking fee. One of the most objectionable review comments common to both brands had to do with the mat having a terrible, lingering odor. I was willing to take a chance and order it, but would have returned it if it had a bad odor. I did not want to pay a restocking fee so went with the Retrospec mat sold and shipped by Amazon. One exception is Amazon Prime offers the GoCloud in black only. I didn’t want black because I expect to occasionally use it outside in the Florida sun and it will get really hot.
