The bong is equipped with an 18.8mm ground joint that comes with a removable inside-cut 18.8mm > 14.5mm slitted diffuser downstem. As you pull the slits in the diffuser split up the smoke into smaller particles, which increases the surface area and enhances the filtration. The roomy bell-shaped beaker base body offers loads of space for the smoke to cool, so all that exits through the mouthpiece is a perfectly filtered hit that is packed with flavor, but very gentle on the throat.- Heat resistant borosilicate glass

We really like this book. A great background and detailed info on this topic. Really like the real-world examples and application. Pretty exhaustive, as far as that is possible given the topic. Also, quite easy to read, although I confess that if from an engineer's perspective.
