Cartonnage is an amazing craft! Making your own fabric box is so fun and it makes an unique handmade gift! You can make your own keepsake boxes, cases and much more out of paperboard, fabric and glue with this lovely craft!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric!
This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all cardboard you need to make your own fabric house box, as shown in the picture with the metal door pull. You can make it special for Christmas or for any other occasion, it's up to you! The pieces of paper (chipboard and poster board) are precut in the right sizes you need for this project. The finished house box will be 6" x 5" x 6 1/2". No worries about cutting paper! Fabric and other contents showed in pictures are not included.
ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS AVAILABLE! The instruction is a very clear PDF tutorial (written) with lots of pictures showing in details step by step to guide you through the whole process (it is not video, it's written instructions), no steps missing, no guessing! Inside the kit you will find the password and easy directions to download the instruction to your computer.
For making the house box you will need this kit, the instruction, two coordinating fabrics (1/2 yard each), may be another small scrap of fabric for the door if you want it different, white PVA glue (Glue All - Elmer's), rotary cutter, cutting board, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush and masking tape.
Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the tools section of the shop.
