Reiki is an energy healing technique that involves the movement of energy through the hands to promote wellness and alignment of the body's energy.
A distance Reiki session is a form of energy healing where a practitioner sends energy to a client (human or animal) who is not physically present. It's based on the principle that we are all connected, and the practitioner can tap into the recipient's energy field to promote healing.
Benefits may include reduced stress, improved emotional well-being, pain relief, and enhanced healing.
- Communicate with the practitioner: Discuss any specific issues or areas you'd like them to focus on.
- Prepare a comfortable space: Find a quiet, relaxing place where you can lie down or sit comfortably.
- Set your intention: Reflect on what you hope to gain from the session and be open to receiving the Reiki energy.
- Relaxation and Sensations: You may experience a wave of relaxation, feelings of warmth, tingling, or a gentle pulsing sensation.
- Emotional Release: Some individuals may experience emotional releases like tears or a feeling of peace.
- Visualizations: Some people might see colors, images, or symbols with their eyes closed.
- Quiet Mind: You might experience a quieting of mental chatter.
- No Sensations: It's also normal to not feel anything specific, and simply feeling relaxed is a sign the energy is working.
- Rest and Hydrate: Allow yourself time to rest and drink plenty of water.
- Reflect: Pay attention to how you feel and any changes you notice.
- Check-in: The practitioner may follow up to share any impressions they received or offer guidance.
