The David Oscarson Hans Christian Andersen Fountain Pen - Light Blue brings the author’s enduring imagination into precious metal and enamel. Built on solid sterling silver and dressed in luminous light blue translucent enamel, it captures the quiet wonder of a timeless tale while delivering a refined, modern writing experience.

Craftsmanship & Design

David Oscarson is renowned for combining engine-turned guilloche engraving with true hot vitreous enamel. Here, waves of hand-cut guilloche are engraved directly into sterling silver, then layered with translucent enamel and kiln fired multiple times to achieve depth, clarity, and a glasslike luster. The light blue hue allows the underlying guilloche to glow through, revealing movement and pattern with each shift of light.

Every contour, from the sterling cap and barrel to the sculpted appointments, is finished to tight tolerances for precise alignment and a satisfying tactile feel. The result is a writing instrument that is as visually resonant as it is technically exacting, presented as part of a limited David Oscarson collection honoring Hans Christian Andersen.

Writing Experience

An 18k gold nib anchors the experience with smooth, consistent flow and a natural touch on paper. Available in fine, medium, or broad, it invites you to match line character to personal handwriting style, from precise notes to expressive signatures. The substantial silver construction provides a confident presence in hand, while the cartridge or converter filling system offers everyday practicality with premium ink compatibility.

Heritage & Provenance

Since its inception, David Oscarson has championed traditional guilloche and hot enamel techniques rarely seen in contemporary writing instruments. Each collection is produced in limited numbers and crafted to preserve artisanal methods that reward close study. The Hans Christian Andersen theme reflects the brand’s affinity for cultural and literary subjects, translating narrative depth into a lasting work of functional art.

My last Timex and why.
Color: Black/Gray/Digital, Color: Black/Gray/Digital
New edit. Upon further reflection, I’ve only had, a couple of exploratory years with Swatch excepted, Timex watches. My first one was when my mother replaced the Chicita Banana “tickity tock” sticker with a real Timex wind up watch before my first Cub Scout camp. In addition to many other Timex products, I’ve had these Ironman watches for the past 25+years. Usually the band wears out and can’t be replaced after three or four years. This particular watch fell apart less than six weeks old. It wasn’t hit by impact. It just came apart while I was driving down the road. I wonder if they’ve changed their manufacturing process. See photo for details. What is truly infuriating is that rather than replacing it, because it is truly a warranty issue, the told me to ship it to their offshore repair facility (which could take 3-5 months) and pay what might be half the value of the watch. Things happen, but the intentional friction they have created to avoid their obligations borders on malpractice and speaks to their indifference toward customer experience and subsequent lifetime value.

As expected
Color: Gray/Gray/Digital
Just an old school digital timex. Tried and true. Has both 12hr and 24hr function on the time setting. Has a standard stop watch and timer. The battery is great, just as it always is on a timex. Good water resistance and very easy to use. Overall very good watch for the price!
