***Important message about replacing the red seal in the pan:
*(If you do not see a visible red seal inside the pan, then please do not attempt to install this seal kit.)
*(Only fits pans that have the visible red pan seal from top side.)
*(You will need Snap Ring Pliers to remove and install the Snap Rings.)
*(You may need an E-clip installation tool to install the E-clip.)

***Warning! Before you attempt to install a new seal, you should always check for thin cracks around the rivet heads on the inside bottom of the pan. If you find a crack in the pan, then you will know the pan is leaking through that crack and is not repairable. If a rivet has loosened, appears to be coming out, or you can move the rivet head with your fingertip, then the pan will leak through that point. A new seal will not solve that problem. If you do not find any cracks or loose rivets, then continue reading and following through with the repair.

Most of the older red seals issued with the pans were manufactured with an outer diameter of 19mm. The 19mm outer diameter seal was cut down to 17mm by the manufacturer of the pan to make it fit into the 17mm diameter hole of the pan. If your pan has this old seal and the pan shaft is still secure, then you may push the seal out by removing the Snap Ring & Wing Nut Impeller from the bottom of the shaft. Then with minimal force push the shaft up and out the top of the pan. This action will push out the seal. If the shaft will not push through without using excessive force that may damage the pan, then please follow the directions in paragraph 2 & 3. If the pan shaft has already come loose and fell out the bottom of the pan, then you will need to follow the directions below in paragraph 2 & 3.

The newer red seals in later productions of the pans are custom made two tear seals that have a bottom outer diameter of 19mm and an upper outer diameter of 17mm. These seals must be removed by prying them out with a double ended bottle/can opener or a pick & hook set. The seal can only be pried out if the pan shaft has fallen out the bottom of the pan. If the pan shaft is still secure, then you will not be able to get the seal out without damaging the pan. In this case please do not order a new seal. Please order a new pan.

***If the shaft has already fallen out the bottom, then you will need to pry out the old seal using an old double ended can opener / bottle opener. Place a business card or credit card in the bottom of the pan to prevent scratching when using the can opener to pry out the old seal. Place the pointed end of the opener into the center hole of the seal and gently pry upward moving from side to side until the seal pops out. Please note that the seal has an inner steel frame. If all you have removed so far is a thin piece of rubber, then you will need to remove the rest of the seal known as the inner frame. It is important that you be very careful when removing the old seal. If the hole the seal is in becomes swelled, warped, or chipped then the new seal may not seat successfully.

***I strongly recommend removing the old seal before purchasing a new seal so that you can determine if the pan is in fact repairable. Please remove the seal first and use a magnifying glass to inspect the hole for chipped off non-stick coating, pitting, corrosion, dings, dents, swelling, or warping. If any of the damage above is present, then please do not order a seal. I can guarantee that it will not seat or seal correctly.

***Please be aware that each time you replace the seal it may not last as long as the previous seal, because the sleeve bearing in the bottom of the pan continues to wear, which causes more wobble that creates more stress for the seal to bear. The thin washer included in the seal kit replaces the Nylon, Teflon, or Fiber washer that was placed under the E-clip on the drive shaft. You will re-use any metal washers found on the bottom end between the sleeve bearing and the wing nut impeller.

Sawgrass quality is excellent
Model: 500N STD, Model: 500N STD
I've been on the fence with Sawgrass, simply because cost can be an issue, but this past week I decided to put the new Sawgrass to the test against another of my printers which I converted for dye sublimation. I also own the Versiflex. I was on the fence with it initially as well, but I've been using it ALOT and I now have it down to an art. I've made shirts for friends and they were literally blown away at the quality of the print, so. . . yes, it is expensive and yes, you get what you pay for. So. . . I recently received the sublijet ink with my new Sawgrass since you cannot mix inks in a Sawgrass, not even to switch the type of ink for risk of damaging the machine. I'm seriously impressed. I made lanyards, T-shirts, bags and the quality is outstanding. I don't know if I'm going to retire my Epson, but the software to print using the Sawgrass print manager is pretty slick. Lots of options to fine tune your print quality. If you have the cash, buy it. If you don't save up. It's worth it. . . and this is coming from a skeptic.

Sawgrass is Always Innovating & Improving!
Model: 500N STD
I do own a versiflex and already have an expectation of quality and it did not let down. I’ve been running it for a few weeks and I’m honestly proud of what I’ve made. Mugs come out with deep blacks and smooth gradients, coasters are sharp edge to edge, and my poly tees keep their color after the first wash. Setup was fairly simple - drivers, print Manager, paper in, Wi-Fi paired first try. I barely tweak settings; reds, skin tones, and fine text land right without a lot of tinkering. No banding, no weird shifts, and the first print of the day is clean as it has an auto maintenance. For consistent, sellable results, it’s been worth it so far and I highly recommend it.

Amazing product!
Set name: Sublimation Printer, Set name: Sublimation Printer
All I can say is "WOW". I was skeptical about changing over from my Sawgrass to another brand of sublimation printers. But now I wish I started here from the start! Not only does this machine cost a good amount less with the same paper sizes and options as my SG500 but the ink is cheaper per cartridge and 11ml larger than the standard 30ml I am use to. Set up was super easy, as well as the connection. My prints are bold, bright, and beautiful. I am amazed! I am thankful that the details in the prints show through no matter what material I am pressing on. As a business owner, I need a good, efficient printer that doesn't cost more than the product I am selling. I can't wait to continue using my machine. I have not run into any maintenance issue and can not speak on anything of that as of now. Attached photos; however, my camera did not do it justice.

Good image quality
Set name: Sublimation Printer
Has good print quality and has worked well. I like the tray paper feed for regular size and that I can use the back paper feed set up for my mug sized sublimation paper. I had considered converting an ink jet to a sublimation, but for a little more decided to try this. Glad I did. Set up was pretty easy and I'm happy with the color quality and accuracy. I wasn't sure when I first saw the print out, but once the sublimation was doen, it was great.
