20g SOLUGEL® collagen peptides to keep your connective tissues feeling strong

Hi Tech Pharmaceuticals Collagen Peptides keeps it simple. The main point? If you want collagen to help, you need a real dose—not a tiny bit mixed with flavors or junk. Each scoop gives you 20g of hydrolyzed collagen peptides from SOLUGEL®, a branded bovine collagen from PB Leiner. Hydrolyzed means it's broken down into smaller pieces for easy mixing and quick absorption. And 20g is at the high end of what studies use for joints, tissues, and skin.

The amino acids show what this does. Glycine leads at 3,719mg per serving. That's a good amount, like 3-5g from research. Glycine builds collagen and helps with glutathione, which aids recovery. Basically, it gives your body stuff to keep tissues strong and help you bounce back.

Proline at 2,075mg and hydroxyproline at 2,058mg are big too. Hydroxyproline is unique to collagen—it helps hold the structure together with bonds. Together with proline and glycine, they form the base for your tendons, ligaments, cartilage, skin, and more. This isn't just any protein—it's tailored for structure.

Alanine is in at 1,462mg, which helps with energy by moving glucose and nitrogen between muscles and liver. Arginine is at 1,517mg.

Key Highlights

  • 20,000mg hydrolyzed collagen peptides per scoop—this is a full, serious dose, not a weak one for looks. Studies and real users go for 10-20g daily for joints, tissues, and skin, and this hits the top for solid support.
  • From SOLUGEL® by PB Leiner—a branded collagen from a trusted supplier. That's better than random stuff because you know the quality in a market full of cheap powders.
  • 3,719mg glycine straight from the collagen—a dose that matters. Glycine is huge in collagen, helps build proteins, make glutathione, and support recovery beyond just adding protein.
  • 2,075mg proline and 2,058mg hydroxyproline—the duo that makes collagen what it is. Hydroxyproline keeps the structure stable, which is why tissues like this mix.
  • Fully transparent—no hidden blends. You see the full 20g and amino breakdown. In a world of vague labels, this is straight-up honest.
  • Made for connective tissues, not as a regular protein. It's loaded with glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline instead of leucine, so it's all about joints, tendons, ligaments, skin, and support.
  • Hydrolyzed for easy use—broken into peptides that mix well and absorb fast. That makes sticking with it simple, and collagen needs daily use to shine.
  • Alanine at 1,462mg adds a useful glucogenic amino acid for energy cycles. Not the main reason to buy, but it boosts the overall recovery vibe.

Who Is This For?

  • Gym folks training 4-6 days with wear on elbows, shoulders, knees, or wrists from heavy lifts. The 20g hydrolyzed collagen gives glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline that tissues need under stress.
  • Runners or endurance types with lots of miles wanting tendon, ligament, and joint support. It's for ongoing upkeep, perfect for all that pounding.
  • Over-30 crowd training hard but recovering slower. Tissues slow with age, and 20g SOLUGEL® helps keep you durable.
  • People chasing looks who want better skin, hair, and nails plus recovery. Collagen's structure stuff helps elasticity and skin strength.
  • Busy workers like coaches, nurses, or trades with daily physical stress. This handles ongoing wear, not just gym time.
  • Folks restarting training who want easy recovery without heavy stims. Daily collagen is simple and supports tissues as you ramp up.

How to Use

One scoop a day. Timing's flexible—morning, after workout, or with food—since it's about steady collagen, not quick boosts. Shake with water or add to smoothies, oats, or coffee for ease. New to it? Try half a scoop first for taste and stomach check, then go full 20g. No need to cycle—benefits come from keeping at it. For max tissue help, eat enough protein and get vitamin C too. Don't use this alone for muscle building—add whey if that's your goal. Keep it sealed, cool, and dry to stay fresh.

What to Expect

First 0-10 minutes: mix and drink—no rush, no tingle, no big feel right away. Days 1-7: get into the habit and load up on those special aminos missing from regular protein. Weeks 2-4: that's when you notice joints, tissues, skin, and recovery feeling better with steady use. After that, it's about keeping it going—daily support beats spotty use. This is for long-term structure, not quick hits.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much collagen does Hi Tech Pharmaceuticals Collagen Peptides provide per serving?

Each scoop provides 20g of hydrolyzed collagen peptides as SOLUGEL®. That is a substantial full serving and sits at the high end of the common 10-20g daily range used in collagen supplementation for connective tissue and skin support.

What type of collagen is used in this formula?

The provided product research indicates a bovine source, with SOLUGEL® hydrolyzed collagen peptides and web-sourced context pointing to grass-fed Types I and III. Type I and III collagen are the forms most commonly associated with skin, connective tissue, and structural support.

Is this a complete protein like whey?

No. Collagen is a specialized protein source with a unique amino acid profile rich in glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, but it is not equivalent to whey for maximizing muscle protein synthesis because it is comparatively low in key essential amino acids like leucine.

When should I take this collagen powder?

Use it once daily whenever it best fits your routine. Collagen works through consistent intake over time, so the most important variable is daily use rather than exact pre- or post-workout timing.

Can I stack this with whey protein or creatine?

Yes, and that is often the smartest way to use it. Whey covers muscle protein synthesis more effectively, creatine supports phosphocreatine and strength output, and collagen fills the connective tissue support role those products do not specifically target.

Does this product contain stimulants or caffeine?

No. Despite an apparent metadata mismatch in the source data, the verified active formula is collagen peptides plus the naturally occurring amino acid profile of collagen. There is no caffeine listed in the disclosed formula.

How long does it take to notice collagen benefits?

Collagen is not an acute-feel supplement. Most users evaluate it over weeks of consistent daily use, not hours, because its role is to provide structural amino acids for connective tissue remodeling and support over time.

Why does the label list amino acids like glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline?

Because those are the amino acids that define collagen’s function. Glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline are especially important to the structure and stability of collagen-rich tissues, which is why their presence in meaningful amounts is a positive sign in a collagen formula.

Is the arginine in this formula enough for a pump effect?

Not as a dedicated nitric oxide ingredient. The 1,517mg arginine is below the 3-6g range more commonly studied for direct arginine supplementation, so here it should be viewed as part of the native collagen amino acid spectrum rather than a pump-focused active.

Is this formula fully transparent?

The active formula is transparent: 20g hydrolyzed collagen peptides are clearly disclosed along with the amino acid profile. The limitation is that no full inactive ingredient list was available in the supplied data, so non-active ingredient transparency could not be fully assessed.

Great scent, hydrating, not greasy or sticky.
Scent: Mellow Coconut, Size: 13.2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This Karl&Hans Moisturizing Body Lotion is a good value at approx $23 on Amazon right now. This is a large 390 ml bottle of lotion. Thankfully it comes with a pump that worked well and made it convenient to use. I especially used it a lot after washing my hands. It's a lightweight lotion with a delicious coconut, musky scent. I was immediately interested in this because of the PDRN and ceramide complex. My skin is always dry and needs support, and this lotion left it soft, soothed, and hydrated. This absorbed quickly, and I didn't notice any lingering issues of feeling greasy or sticky.

Buy it for the scent, keep using it for the benefits...
Scent: Mellow Coconut, Size: 13.2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Scent: Mellow Coconut, Size: 13.2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
During the pandemic, I became a bit of a skincare fanatic. I didn't have much to do otherwise, and so I began collecting various creams, lotions, serums, and other products that claimed they would help regain what I had lost or would help prevent what was coming. I stuck with a few things after I got back to work but honestly did not have the time to sit down and apply this to that and that to his. In all seriousness, I really did enjoy it all. I found a few favorites, a few holy grails, and I've continued to use those products. I recently started looking for something new and I discovered a new ingredient. Well, I didn't discover it, I just happened upon it as a main ingredient in many skincare products. At first, silly me thought it was a new brand. Then I started seeing it pop up in a lot of product description pages. Polydeoxyribonucleotide or better known as PDRN. I did a little research on the internet as one does and found that the PDRN is quite popular nowadays in the world of skincare because of its regenerative and healing properties. I am all here for regenerative and healing properties in my skincare products. I look forward to learning more about this new (to me) ingredient. I came across this bottle 13.2-ounce bottle of Karl & Hans Moisturizing Body Lotion not too long ago and it promised deep hydration with its coconut-derived extracts and it, too, had some PDRN in it, RICERA PDRN plus ceramide complex, to strengthen the skin barrier. Now, I've only been using it for about a month, when I'm home. With it's tall pump bottle containing 13.2 ounces of product, it's a bit too big to be sticking it in my purse. I do, however, keep it in my bathroom and use it as my body lotion after my showers. First of all, the smell is just incredible. I just used it to inspire this review. A good pump of this lotion was more than enough to moisturize my hands and my arms. What surprised me about this lotion was how fast it absorbs into my skin. There is no tacky or greasy feeling after application, the only evidence I've just used a lotion is the dry skin on my hands is not as noticeable due to the moisturizing properties of this lotion and the lovely soft scent of coconut wafting about the room. My skin feels soft and the dry skin isn't as evident. I haven't been using this product enough to say that it can do what it claims, but I can say that I enjoy and like this lotion very much and will continue to use it. at $1.74 an ounce, it's definitely an affordable skincare option to continue to use all over the body, after every shower and on my hands after every handwash. I think it would be a great gift to each of the team of ladies I work with. I've often received remarks that I smell so good from them, and I just smile because it's not a fancy, expensive perfume I imagine they think it is. It's just a great lotion that I got from Amazon. If, over time, I see the overall appearance of my skin appear healthier, than I will consider that a double win. I definitely recommend this moisturizing lotion. I am happy with using it and I think you will be, too. Gift it to yourself or to your friends. The scent as lovely as it is, could also be used by the men in the house, too. I might start keeping my bottle by the kitchen sink so my husband could enjoy it as I do.

Love the scent! Paraben free and really hydrating

I've never used any Karl&Hans product before, but I'm really impressed with what they've done here. Contrary to the very European name, this lotion is made in Korea. The Mellow Coconut fragrance isn't subtle, but it's relaxing. It's blatantly coconut right off the bat, but when it settles in, there's a lingering fruity vanilla scent. It'll stay wafting around you for a good amount of time after application. The lotion is pretty rich and thick in consistency. It's not quite a cream, but it's thick enough that it doesn't run much, or at all, when you plop some on a vertical surface. That might just be because it's cold where I am, though, so it might be more runny in hotter climates. The thickness betrays how easily it rubs in. It's super quick to absorb and hydrates well without feeling heavy. My skin feels moisturized but not sticky or greasy. PDRN seems to be the hot buzz ingredients of the times right now. I'm not fully educated in the science behind it, but this lotion is really turning me into a believer of whatever skincare magic it's supposed to work. According to Skin Safe, it's also free of parabens, nickel, lanolin, and a bunch of other top common allergy causing preservatives. At $23 for 13.2 fl oz/390 ml, this is definitely steeper in price than your average body lotion, but it works some serious magic in the moisturizing department. It's been a good while since my skin felt so satisfyingly supple. I'd prefer if the scent weren't quite as strong, I can't deny it smells good.

Side by side comparison ......
Scent: Fresh Mint, Size: 13.2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Like everyone else shopping around for lotion, I want one that, most importantly, works. I'm so very tired of lotions that feel like I'm applying colored water to hands so my go to lotion has become Gold Bond as it's a genuinely thick, somewhat long lasting lotion with minimal scent at a decent (ish) price point. I am however, always looking to find something even better so I thought I'd give this stuff a try. This is just an estimation, but I feel it is about 20% less viscous than the Gold Bond Healing lotion however, in a side by side test where I applied the back of one hand with the GB and the back of the other with this K&H brand, after one hour the K&H feels every bit as supple but just a tad more velvety if you will. Although I prefer a non scented lotion, after an hour, the K&H scent has indeed lighted up a bit but smells better than the GB. The GB seems to almost have an underlying petroleum type odor - not offensive really but just that the K&H smells better to me is all. The Gold Bond does get the favoring nod in the price dept though as it's very close to 50% less expensive than this Karl & Hans. If all things were equal (and that includes the price), I'd pick the K&H over the GB however with price point always being of concern for me personally, I don't think the attributes of the K&H beat out the overall value of the GB.
