Originally introduced in the 1985 G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series, the band was a creation of Cobra, who disguised their Dreadnok enforcers as rockstars in a now-iconic episode titled “Cold Slither.” The episode quickly became a cult favorite, infamous for showcasing Cobra’s use of music as psychological warfare. 

Decades later, the band has clawed its way back from obscurity. Fronted by the enigmatic Zartan and backed by his unhinged Dreadnok bandmates—Torch, Ripper, and Buzzer—Cold Slither has been reborn as a full-force sonic weapon. Their sound is a brutal blend of heavy metal chaos and swamp-borne rebellion, fusing guttural guitars, venomous vocals, and a rhythm section forged in fire.
