CBD OIL with Terpenes

Potential Benefits:

When formulating a daytime CBD oil, incorporating specific terpenes like Limonene, Alpha-phellandrene, Alpha-pinene, Beta-pinene, and Beta-caryophyllene can provide targeted synergistic effects (known as the "entourage effect") that enhance both the therapeutic efficacy and user experience of the product. Here’s a breakdown of the added benefits of each terpene in a daytime, pain-relief-focused CBD oil:

Limonene: Primary Effects: Mood elevation, anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory.

Daytime Benefit: Energizing and uplifting, combats stress or fatigue often associated with chronic pain.

How it works: May increase serotonin levels and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects in preclinical studies.

Alpha-Phellandrene: Primary Effects: Antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, mood-enhancing.

Daytime Benefit: Promotes alertness and may aid in reducing localized pain and swelling.

How it works: Found in eucalyptus and other essential oils; may support immune function and reduce discomfort via cytokine modulation.

Alpha-Pinene:  Primary Effects: Anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator, memory enhancer.

Daytime Benefit: Boosts focus and mental clarity, important for managing pain without mental fog.

How it works: Inhibits acetylcholinesterase, which helps with memory retention; modulates inflammatory responses.

Beta-Pinene: Primary Effects: Anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, mild analgesic.

Daytime Benefit: Complements alpha-pinene; adds subtle mental stimulation and helps reduce inflammatory pain.

How it works: Works through various pathways involving prostaglandin and cytokine reduction

Beta-Caryophyllene: Primary Effects: Potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, CB2 receptor agonist.

Daytime Benefit: Provides direct pain relief without causing sedation; supports immune modulation.

How it works: Unique among terpenes in its ability to directly bind to CB2 receptors, enhancing CBD's anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions.

Formulation Advantages for Daytime Use

Non-sedating: All selected terpenes avoid drowsiness, keeping the user functional and alert.

Mood-enhancing: Limonene and alpha-phellandrene lift mood—critical for people experiencing chronic pain or low energy.

Cognitive clarity: Pinene family terpenes promote mental sharpness.

Anti-inflammatory synergy: All listed terpenes support CBD’s inflammation-reducing effects, making the blend more effective for managing pain.

What benefit does using MCT Oil have?

CBD and terpenes are fat-soluble which means they need fat to be absorbed effectively by the body, MCT Oil is highly bioavailable, easy digestible and fast absorbing. MCT Oil is more stable at room temperature thus encouraging longer shelf life. MCT Oil also does a great job of holding and preserving terpene molecules.

How the CBD helps:

Pain Relief: CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) to regulate pain perception.  Beta-Caryophyllene works as a natural anti-inflammatory agent. Alpha-Pinene also improves concentration and focus, it can have a stimulating and energizing effect on the body, encourages bronchodilation making it perfect to use for pain management during your busy day. Beta-pinene elevates your mood and serotonin level and it more readily bonds with CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system which help reduce inflammation. Beta-Pinene is also neuroprotective.  The CBD pain (daytime) is perfectly created for optimal pain relief, whether you are a professional busy at the office or an athlete in need of pain relief, whilst enjoying the added benefits of these terpenes.

Ingredients: CBD Isolate (99.7%), MCT Oil (carrier oil for better absorption), Terpene blend: Limonene, Alpha-Phellandrene, Alpha-Pinene, Beta-Pinene, Beta-Caryophyllene.

Free from: GMO's, gluten, dairy, and artificial ingredients.

Great summary of Egyptian history
Format: Kindle
The book is—as the subtitle states—an “Overview of Egyptian History.” The book is a brief summary of Egypt’s long and interesting history. It starts with historical events: who were the rulers? What territories did Egypt conquer? Who conquered Egypt. The second part of the book discusses social, economic, and religious history. This primer lays out all of the above topics but with little detail so the reader may wish to select topics of interest to study in further depth elsewhere. Because Egypt’s history includes millennia, I find it hard to understand, so reading this book was valuable to me. The book is written in a style that makes it easy to read. It is not at all dry as some textbooks can be. I recommend this book to anyone who wants an overview of Egyptian history and look forward to reading other books in the series.

Far from enthralling, but I did learn
Format: Paperback
This book was a disappointment. It looked like exactly what I was looking for: an overview of the history, society, and culture of Egypt from ancient to modern times that wasn't 500+ pages long. I did learn a fair bit of information, but unfortunately, the book is far from "enthralling." It reads like a high school student's book report. In addition, it sometimes just throws terms out there with no explanation, and I found myself having to consult Google. For example, it says "Since hieroglyphs were difficult to create, the Egyptians developed hieretic writing, which was a type of cursive script. Later, demotic writing was developed for ordinary documents." What is demotic writing? How is it different from hieretic? The book doesn't even provide a picture. I had to go to Wikipedia to find out what these things are. This book needs slightly more detail and an author with better writing style / storytelling abilities. That said, it still may be the best short introduction available.

Recommended read by tour guide to Egypt
Format: Paperback
Very good history book of Egypt in non-complicated terms. I wish there were more pictures and maps to add to the descriptions in the book. Read this as it was recommended by our tour guide to Egypt in April
