R35 – MM/MC phono preamplifier

R35 is our most sophisticated and capable MM/MC phono preamplifier, providing the ideal interface between the low-level output of a moving magnet or moving coil phono cartridge and the line-level inputs of your hi-fi system, either RCA or XLR.

Technology

R35 MM/MC phono preamp is designed to amplify with honest fidelity the delicate signal from even the lowest output phono cartridge.

The design has been carefully crafted so that all components work sympathetically together, including a fully isolated power supply, allowing the highly sensitive signal components to function in a noise free environment for superior performance, resulting in cleaner sound and greater fidelity. R35 features adjustable gain to amplify the signal from virtually any moving magnet or moving coil phono cartridge, and a very wide range of input adjustments allowing for ideal cartridge and system matching.

The look and feel of Scandinavia

We believe that every aspect of our products – the way they look, the satisfying feel of the controls – contributes to the overall experience of living with Primare. As a result, Primare products exude the hallmarks of Scandinavian design – simple, elegant designs, with approachable and easy to understand functionality.
An example of this is the standby button discretely placed within the Primare logo on the faceplate of our R15, R35 and A35.2 models – or as we say lagom, not too much not too little, everything in balance, proportion, and harmony.

Modular Design and System Building

We feel it is essential to offer modularity whenever possible in order to have just the right features, both now and for the future. Modular design is featured in the I25 and I35 modular integrated amplifiers, as well as the PRE35 modular preamplifier, all of which can be updated with DAC and Prisma modules, as well as the CD35 CD player that can have the Prisma module added, either at the time of purchase or at a later date. As a result, we are able to offer a carefully considered array of models and configurations in order to allow for device selection that best fits any system need. For example, a CD35 with Prisma module installed can be paired with an I35 integrated amplifier, allowing for a separation of analog and digital stages. Or, an I35 with DAC and Prisma modules installed can be paired with a DD35 CD transport, allowing for multi-room and multi-zone playback of every input, whether analog or digital source.

And while not modular, the R35 can be added to any of those systems to include high performance playback of vinyl records.

R15 and R35 Phono Preamplifiers

In this video we review the features and functionality of both the R15 and R35 MM/MC phono preamplifiers that may make them the perfect addition to your system.

Reviews

“Beautifully designed, finely crafted and not yet completely out of touch in terms of price”… With the Vertere DG-1S and a Thorens MC TAS 1500 as a source, it gave the sound of the system a fundamental impact that is rarely achieved with vinyl. Ideal for helping the newly arrived double LP The World Ended A Long Time Ago to achieve maximum effect… For fans of a warm, silky phono sound, the Primare is therefore exactly the right choice.”

-Mint

“Did you like the R15? You’ll love the R35 even more. This is not the trailer for a sequel, although the R35, contemporary with the R15, fully deserves to be seen and above all heard. To the point that the question arises of understanding how the Swedish manufacturer achieves such a functionality/quality/appearance/price mix… Of the R15, we wrote that the sound was “full, warm and lively.” In comparison, R35 appears fleshy, vigorous, even fiery. Free, rather. Without being heavy or overwhelming, just impeccably open and breathing while being, yes, fiery… And if you have an integrated or a preamp with balanced line input, you will still gain very significantly in this mode in terms of transparency, dynamics, and noise reduction. The difference is far from negligible. For all these reasons, the R35 establishes a real hierarchy compared to the R15, even offering itself the vanity of challenging devices of significantly higher prices. So yes, this is certainly not new; but, at Primare, the devices are designed to last, and this is not the least of their qualities.

-Diapason

“Primare’s legacy R32 has been our reference phono stage for almost a decade, but the R35 sets the bar so much higher, with so many settings, balanced connections and improved audio, it really is the reference phono stage.”

-Audiograde

“In the R35 what Primare has done is focus on offering a product that can rival the best on spec alone, while not sacrificing what sets it apart from most at the price which is its sheer musical performance. It has depth and detail in spades, with an analogue character that underlines vinyl’s enduring appeal. It’s bass control is also class leading, and when you put all this together, the package is outstanding.”

-Audiograde

“What I like about the ‘no nonsense’ aspect of the R35 that is so appealing is that the character of the vinyl (recording, production, quality of mix, master and pressing) is presented quite frankly and not uncritically. My bad records really don’t get any better and the good versions sound better than I’ve ever heard them.”

-HVT

”If you are looking for a flexible phono stage that can be used on all pickups, and that plays heavenly without breaking the bank completely, the Primare R35 is one of the best choices in the price range below NOK 20,000. Outstanding / 6 stars ”

-Lyd & Bilde

“So what are the arguments for buying a Primare R35? First, it has more settings and higher flexibility than most of its competitors in the price range. This in itself provides a usable guarantee that you get the full potential of your pickup and turntable, no matter what you want to buy or have before. If you already have Primare and want your system to sound great and at the same time look holistic and stylish, just buy. Primare R35 is stylish, impressively flexible, and plays brilliantly.”

-Stereo+

“The Primare R35 is that rare thing: an audio component with a lot of features that also sounds exceptionally revealing. Usually, it’s one or the other, so getting both in a professionally executed package with some superior styling touches at a sensible price is quite an achievement.”

-HiFi+

“Primare R35 – Flagship phono stage is an analogue triumph… it is an incredibly flexible and capable phono stage that seemingly has the ability to extract the very best from any cartridge that crosses its path. A rare feat at any price, this only further pumps up the R35’s value. OUTSTANDING PRODUCT.”

-Hifi News

“Technically well designed, the Primare R35 is at the forefront of its price range. Not as a show off, but with strict neutrality with no effort. That is what I call to the point.”

Super Cute Sponges for kids!
Color: Frog&strawberry, Color: Frog&strawberry
This is a pack of super cute kids bath sponges. These are sponges attached to loofahs that have a loop on them and can be hung to dry. These are shaped, One looked like a frog and the other like a strawberry making this pack accommodate both boy and girls. These sponges work very well and feel like they're made of a decent quality. The sponge area is very soft and the loofahs feel well made. These are a perfect size for the kiddos. These do a good job at lathering up the suds for the little ones. These also feel like they have a good durability and don't feel like they're gonna fall apart anytime soon. These are super cute and would make a great gift as well. The value on this is not very expensive. These are affordable especially for gifting. giving this an expected value in my opinion and at the time of this review. Overall, these sponges are super cute and would make a fantastic gifts for little ones. I would have no issues recommending these.

Very functional, and lots of fun for little kids. Gentle enough for their skin, too.
Color: Frog&strawberry
These are so awesome. Two of them come in a box. There's a frog one and a strawberry one. They are inside individual zip lock bags inside the box. There's a scrubbie/loofa (not a natural one, just the plastic webbing type) on one side, and cloth-covered plushie/sponge on the other side that is the strawberry/frog. My granddaughter loves them. She can use them to clean and scrub herself, just like a big girl, but with a fun sponge/scrubby that she likes, so she always knows that there's a special one that is just hers. They absorb plenty of water and soap, and are good for cleaning their whole body. They are just the right size to fit in an adult hand, so a little big for solo use by a little hand, but there are plenty of bits to grab onto on either side, so it's not hard for a little kid to hang onto them. The loofah/scrubby side is well made, although it will become big and loose as those things always do if you pull on them too much. The sponge/toy side is very soft, and definitely gentle enough for a small child's skin. My only dislike is the small loop for hanging it on a hook in the shower. The little loop is just tiny and hard to separate, so it's difficult to get it onto a hook so it can hang and dry out in between uses. It would have been very easy to make the loop longer and more functional, so I'm not sure why they didn't. Other than that one, minor inconvenience, this is a great product.

Adorable scrubbie
Color: Turtle&bunny
Durable sponge made with quality material. Great value for price, soap lathers well and no signs of wear and tear after using for a month. Not too rough on the skin, plus you can’t beat the adorable turtle design

Super Cute! Stuffing Seems to Poke Out
Color: Frog&strawberry
These kids bath sponges are super cute! My daughter loves the strawberry one. It's soft, and well made, and doesn't irritate her skin. The size is just right for little hands, and they seem to be holding up well so far. One thing I noted is that some of the stuffing seemed to be poking out when I first opened it, but it came off easily and doesn't seem to be getting worse.

Great work on the recent history of strategic studies and strategy in practice.
Format: Kindle
While not perfect, certainly one of the best works on strategy I've read recently and possibly the best work on post-1945 strategic history I've read in a while. Two main flaws or issues of contention: Strachan's critique of civil-military relations is at times lucid, but at other times appears to come slightly off the rails. Second, the books origin as a (much altered and added too) collection of articles shows through in the many areas which it doubles back on itself covering ground previously well trodden, at times this is done to build on previously mentioned ideas, at other times it seems overly repetitive. On the whole it is an excellent assessment and critique of the recent history of Strategic Studies as a field, as a historian I find many of his disciplinary critiques of the history/IR balance quite convincing, but I suppose I'm biased.
