This Damascus kitchen knife set gives you seven purpose-built knives for complete daily kitchen prep. Blade sizes run from 7 inches on the paring knife up to 10 inches on the chef knife. Every handle is shaped from dark black pakka wood with a white bone-style resin spacer block at the bolster end, brass pins, and a mosaic pin. A steel bolster sits between every blade and handle. No storage is included with this set.

This is the only 7-piece Damascus kitchen knife set at JW Steel Crafts with dark pakka wood handles, white spacer blocks, and a Chef, Santoku, Nakiri, Cleaver, Slicing, Utility, and Paring configuration in one matched set.

The History Behind This Blade

Professional kitchen knife culture in 19th-century France established the seven-blade system as the benchmark for complete kitchen prep. Each blade had a defined role — no two overlapped in function. The chef knife and Santoku handled primary daily tasks. The Nakiri managed vegetable work. The cleaver took on heavy breakdown. The slicing knife processed protein. Utility and paring knives handled precision and detail.

Dark pakka wood became a standard professional handle material through the 20th century because it resisted moisture, held its shape through daily wet use, and gave working kitchen knives a clean, refined appearance. The JW Steel Crafts 7-piece Damascus set brings that same seven-blade professional discipline into every kitchen today.

What Is Inside the Set

  • Chef Knife — Primary slicing, chopping, and general daily prep, largest blade at 10 inches

  • Santoku Knife — Push cutting, slicing, and fast vegetable prep with a flat-edge profile

  • Nakiri Knife — Dedicated vegetable blade with a straight edge for precise flat chopping

  • Cleaver — Heavy vegetable breakdown and meat portioning tasks

  • Slicing Knife — Long clean cuts on roasts, proteins, and large meat portions

  • Utility Knife — Medium precision trimming, slicing, and general prep tasks

  • Paring Knife — Peeling, trimming, and fine detail cutting, smallest blade at 7 inches

Seven knives. Seven distinct roles. Every stage of a full kitchen prep workflow is covered without gaps.

Blade Performance

Every blade is forged from layered Damascus steel in a bold flowing wave pattern finish. The wave pattern on this set carries a strong topographic swirl character across every blade flat. The layered structure builds consistent edge retention and cutting strength through repeated daily kitchen use. Damascus steel holds a working edge longer than standard stainless under the same prep load. Full tang construction runs through every dark pakka wood handle and spreads weight evenly from blade tip to handle base for stable and controlled cutting across all seven knives.

Handle Construction

Every handle is shaped from dark black pakka wood. Pakka wood is natural hardwood compressed with resin under high pressure. It resists moisture, does not swell or crack, and holds its dark surface finish through daily kitchen use. A white bone-style resin spacer block sits at the bolster end of every handle, adding a clean color contrast against the dark pakka wood. Steel bolsters sit between each blade and handle, adding front-end weight for better cutting balance. Brass pins and a mosaic pin lock every handle firmly to the full tang for long-term structural reliability across all seven knives.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Nakiri knife for?

The Nakiri has a straight flat edge designed specifically for vegetable prep — precise flat chopping and clean push cuts through dense vegetables without the curved belly of a chef knife.

What is the white spacer block on each handle?

The white bone-style resin spacer sits between the dark pakka wood and the steel bolster on every handle. It adds a clean color contrast and a layered handcrafted appearance throughout the set.

What does the mosaic pin do?

The mosaic pin is a decorative steel pin with an inlaid pattern set into each handle. It is a detail unique to this set across the JW Steel Crafts kitchen knife lineup.

Does this set include storage?

No. These knives are built for counter display and daily kitchen use. A magnetic strip or knife block is recommended for safe storage between uses.

Are all seven knives full tang?

Yes. The tang runs the full length of every dark pakka wood handle for strength, balance, and long-term durability across all seven knives.

How do I care for Damascus blades?

Hand wash and dry immediately after every use. Apply food-safe mineral oil occasionally. Never put them in a dishwasher and store in a dry place between uses.

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

A good read
Format: Kindle
A good read, just fluffy cuteness, no antagonism. I like all the characters. It could have used another round of editing however, glanfds being one error that cracked me up, and my personal pet peeve was that the author kept using the word fill instead of feel, which I promise you are not interchangeable haha, but it's definitely better than the majority of books I read on here mistake-wise.

amazing
Format: Kindle
Knot the Bride was a fantastic read! The characters were all amazing and well-developed. It was easy to like them all. Sophia, Luca, Nick, and Gavin were all perfect for each other. It was such a charming story that had me hooked the entire time. I did wish there were POVs from Luca, Nick, and Gavin but it was still an amazing book without it. I am excited to read the next book in the Willowside Omegaverse series! This is definitely a must-read for fans of omegaverse romance!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3 Star Read,
Format: Kindle
This book wasn't bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. It's highly disappointing because the storyline is so original. There is no real conflict or resolution, so the entire thing feels flat. As a lover of omegaverse books, I know there is a ton of variety out there, and ov is really up to the author. But this one is weird. Omegas have multiple scent glands all over their bodies and go into week long heats every month. Alphas have knots in the middle of their shaft instead of the base, and the knot doesn't always swell, no explanation of when or why. It doesn't engage at all when the mouth is in play. I also didn't enjoy the author's writing style. Each paragraph is only 1 or 2 sentences long, and the entire book reads very stacato. The conversations are stiff and unnatural feeling. Everything is very repetitive, both in word choice and in thought. The same thing is repeated 3 or 4 times over a single page, multiple times over. I ended up doing so much skimming. The first 50% of the book is all slow burn, and the last 50% is almost straight mediocre spice. This wouldn't have been all bad if the grammar and spelling errors didn't start at the exact same time. Tongue is repeatedly misspelled in the middle of the spice.

Cozy Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
This is the true definition of Cozy Omegaverse. LA wedding coordinator meets her pack at the location for a couple’s destination wedding. Low angst because they are scent matched high heat with heats and knots. Everything you love about this genre with very little anxiety. Simply a fun experience to read and a book I will comeback to when I’m in a slump. I simply love reading this book
