Overview

Upright style Ultra-Low Temperature Freezers are designed for a variety of uses including shrink fitting, and ultra cold storage of product at -85°C. The upright freezer style allows for easy access and storage. Freezer Sizes range from 13 to 30 cubic feet capacities.

Manufactured in Cincinnati Ohio, So-Low Ultra-Low -85°C freezers are produced with high quality craftsmanship, heavy-duty materials, and over 50 years of experience. These freezers use a cascade refrigeration system, providing reliable and durable environmental conditions for your product’s vital temperature requirements. So-Low Ultra-Low freezers are available in wide variety of sizes and styles, to accommodate for each customers required conditions. Combined with our nation-wide service network, our Ultra-Low Freezers have various options for additional temperature recording devices, providing the highest level of quality temperature transcription.

So-Low's Superior Construction

Ultra low freezers have a 16-ga. exterior (cold rolled steel). Interiors are 14 gauge vs. competitions 16 gauge. Ultra low freezer interiors are galvanized, non-corrosive steel. Galvanized steel conducts temperature more efficiently than stainless steel. This creates less stress on compressors making them run cooler and longer.

So-Low's Digital Control

So-Low is the only ultra low temperature manufacturer to utilize a dual display digital temperature control. A red LED display indicates the actual interior chamber temperature while a green LED display located directly below the red display shows the actual setpoint temperature. This will give assurance that the freezer is operating at the correct temperature range whereas other manufacturer's temperature controls show only the actual temperature and not both the setpoint and actual temperature.

So-Low's Dependability

Laboratory professionals all over the world have recognized the dependability and efficiency of So-Low Ultra Low Freezers, the first to combine all of these performance features and deliver a level of quality construction, reliability and value unequaled anywhere in the world. Performance testing is your assurance of So-Low Ultra low freezers' dependability. Every freezer is fully tested under the most demanding conditions for seven days. The constant ultra-low setpoint operation temperature is assured in warm temperature environments. Dependability is backed up by a 12 month warranty. Technical assistance is provided by a Nation-Wide-Network of service companies.

Please note: So-Low Ultra Low Freezers are manufactured at the time the order is placed and go through extensive testing before they are released. A 4-6 week lead time should be expected.

FAQ

What side does the door open from?

The door opens from the left side (the hinge is on the right), as in the picture below. If you need it the other way around, please inquire about having the door customized.

Are the So-Low Ultra Low Upright Freezers UL listed?

No, but they are ETL listed, which is a legally equivalent marking from a different organization. Just like UL listing, ETL listing serves as proof of product compliance to North American safety standards in both the US and Canada.

What is the weight capacity of each shelf?

75 pounds.

Do the So-Low Ultra Low Upright Freezers have a lock?

The latch of the freezer is lockable with a padlock. They do not have a built-in keyed lock.

What insulation is used and how much is there?

The insulation is a 5 inch thick polyurethane foam.

What is the life expectancy of one of the So-Low Ultra Low Upright Freezers?

If a freezer kicks the bucket, it's probably because the compressor went. So this is really a matter of how long the life of the compressor is. The manufacturer of these compressors puts them through a stress test which simulates, in an accelerated fashion by means of having additional load on it, 8 years of normal wear. According to this test, a So-Low ULT should last at least 8 years.

However, there are situations where you can decrease the life of your compressor. Most of these involve additional stress on the compressor, for instance:

  • Opening and closing the door frequently
  • Having the unit in a hot and / or dirty environment
  • Not cleaning the area around the compressor and allowing dust to build up on the components
  • Not replacing worn door gaskets, if necessary

So under heavy load, in a harsh environment or under conditions of poor maintenance, your ULT might not last as long. This would be true for any freezer.

What refrigerants are used in the So-Low Ultra Low Upright Freezers?

R-404A, R-508B, and R-170.

Are these refrigerants acceptable under the EPA's Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP)?

Yes, they all are listed as acceptable under the EPA's Substitutes in Very Low Temperature Refrigeration.

Not a bad start

3 stars Thank you Netgalley and Briar Boleyn for the ARC! A camelot/king Arthur retelling with fae. I was hooked by the idea of this book immediately and was eager to jump into this world. • slow burn • enemies to lovers • who did this to you Morgan Pendragon watched her mother die by her father's hand when she was just eight years old, hiding under the bed. Morgan is believed to have the tainted blood of the fae in her veins and is cast aside so that her fathers illegitimate son, Arthur, can become the king. She's seen his cruel treatment of the fae firsthand, so when he sends her on a journey to find a fae weapon she seizes the opportunity to do more with her life. Along the way, she finds more than she could have imagined. I don't know a whole lot about King Arthur and Camelot but I had a lot of fun with this story! The plot has some similar tropes to popular romantasy books (From blood and ash) but there's enough originality here that it doesn't feel like I'm reading a copy. I liked how the fae were different in appearance than what is typical in most fantasy books I've read. In this book they have blue hair, violet skin and a wide range of other characteristics. I thought that the world building was easy to follow and I could easily immerse myself into this world. After reading the blurb I kept wondering when she was going to go on the journey to find Excalibur and it doesn't happen until around the 45% mark. The story is a bit slow at times but starts to pick up once they begin their journey to find Excalibur. The John Wick style Inn was a fun concept that I enjoyed reading about. There are a lot of similarities to this and FBAA and I would have liked to have it be a little more different, but I'm hoping book two will have the story turn into something of its own. Overall I enjoyed reading this story and I'm looking forward to reading book two especially after that ending.

Addicting!
Format: Kindle
I could not stop reading. It was so refreshing to have a series start so completely different than most fated mates/fantasy academy rh I’ve been reading. From the desert scenery to the magic and feeding plus the psychological trauma the characters are there to deal with. Pandora is absolutely adorable and I totally relate to hiding behind my hair. I love that she’s literally the most scary type of demon but it’s not the usual “badass mc” persona (which I do love a badass that can fend for herself and kick ass from the start but it was a nice change of pace). I’m not usually a big fan of bully within the harem but each character has their reasons for their actions and also conflicting feelings about them. I adore Dex and Reed! Complete opposites but their personalities and inner monologues made them instant favs. I can’t wait to see the character growth with the guys and continued strength for Pandora. The captivating characters and references to the Fate Hallow series added so much depth and now I need another reread while I wait for book 2. The concept of magic and the unique feeding habits of the demon characters were intriguing. I can't wait for the next book to continue this thrilling journey. In summary, this book is a must-read for fantasy and magic academy rh fans. With its enchanting characters, nods to the Fate Hallow series, and imaginative concepts, it offers an immersive reading experience that hwill leave you craving for more.

Best academy I've read this year
Format: Kindle
I need a few things when it comes to a first book of a PNR romance series 1-Good world building (which this totally did) 2-An FMC I can root for (oh hell yes, Pandora is someone I can cheer for) 3-Good drama (can you say GROVEL BOYS!) 4-Enough story to make you feel like you really read something with meat (you saw this book is like 600 pages, yeah?) 5-A hook at the end so I want more! (please, Lyra, gimmie more?!? I need more!!) Be aware this book is a slow burn, but damn do I feel like there'll be some big payoff when it finally happens. Who doesn't like the buildup?

Pandora’s Pain, Power, and Passion
Format: Kindle
I absolutely love this new world Lyra Winters has created! The spin on a Demon Academy setting was fresh, unique, and completely addictive. Pandora is a character who immediately captured my heart. Thought to be powerless and enduring years of brutal abuse from her mother, it’s no surprise that her powers emerge at the exact moment she needs them most. After her mother’s death, Pandora discovers her father is none other than Death himself, a soul eater with a dark legacy. Her journey at the academy is anything but easy, filled with challenges tied to her father’s infamous reputation, her barely controlled abilities, and the cruelty of those around her. Pandora is easy to root for, you feel every ounce of her pain, resilience, and growth. Along the way she meets Reed, a half-human dream demon who’s kind, steady, and the kind of friend everyone wishes they had. There’s also Hunter, a vengeance demon and counselor connected to her father, who adds another intriguing layer to her story. Then there are the bullies: Dexter, a brooding shadow demon; Bram, a chaos demon with a drinking problem and deep hatred for demon nobility; and Skel, a fear demon wrestling with his own darkness. They might hurt her, but they also can’t seem to stay away when she’s in danger, making for some deliciously complicated dynamics. This book hits so many of my favorite tropes: friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, and of course, the irresistible “who hurt you?” storyline. I devoured it, and I’m already diving straight into book two!

So good!
Format: Kindle
Oh my goodness! What did I just read? Lyra Winters you have some serious explaining to do! That cliffhanger killed me! I am so happy to be back in the world of Kalista. This is definitely darker than Fates Hollow but oh so good. This is a fated mates reverse harem which I absolutely love. Pandora had a very hard and rough upbringing. She lives in pain constantly and it makes it hard on her. She struggles with everything because she was kept so isolated and is new to her magic. Pandora gets sent to the Reform Academy and all of them have reasons why they are there. I love how, after everything she has been through, she is still a nice person. She is growing and becoming stronger too. Love her character. The guys all act like jerks at first but all have a back story that helps understand why even though want to smack them. I'm here for the groveling that I'm sure will come. I love them all. They each bring something for her. They are all drawn to her though. This is a slow burn book but there will be more books in the series so sure it will build. Man, that cliffhanger was a doozy and need book 2 now!
