Talk about a retro trip; here is a DVD release worth bragging about. "Here Come The Double Deckers" was a 17-part British children's TV series from 1970-71 revolving around the adventures of seven children whose den was an old red double-decker London bus in an unused works (junk) yard. A co-production between British independent film company Century Films and American TV company 20th Century Fox, it was a children's comedy adventure sitcom.
Each week saw the gang in a separate adventure including episodes based around a runaway homemade hovercraft, a chocolate factory and invading 'Martians' with guns that shoot out chocolate candy, a disastrous camping holiday, collecting tin foil for a guide dog, becoming pop moguls with their protégé 'The Cool Cavalier', and a haunted stately home.
Some of the cast were unknown, though Melvyn Hayes was an established adult actor, Gillian Bailey was fairly experienced for a child actor and both Brinsley Forde and Michael Audreson had appeared in The Magnificent Six and a Half, a series of Children's Film Foundation films on which the Double Deckers were based. Hayes also wrote the episode "Man's Best Friend", co-wrote the episode "Get a Movie On!", co-wrote the series' theme song, and acted as a dialogue coach for the series. Bailey is now head of the drama department at Royal Holloway, University of London. Peter Firth has gone on to a prominent acting career, appearing in Equus, The Hunt for Red October, Tess, Pearl Harbor and Spooks (known in some territories as MI-5). Co-star Brinsley Forde later became the lead singer in Aswad.
All 17 episodes are included in this 4-disc DVD set, plus the 20-minute bonus feature “Double Decker Memories” with Brinsley Forde and Michael Audreson. A great way to relive a time-gone-by.

Great Vacuum for Pet Households
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Excellent vacuum for houses with pets and carpet. It’s outrageously powerful and is light and easy to maneuver around. The color is a perk too, looks great.

Great vacuum
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Bought this to replace a Dyson, and I love it! Strong suction and super quiet. I was especially interested in this vacuum because of allergies and wanted better filtration to keep dust down, and this succeeded. I got no dust blowing around and the house doesn’t smell like dog after vacuuming. I did buy the Miele hepa filter since that does not come with this vacuum. Great purchase for allergies - Worth the money!

Major purchase! Builds muscle
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
I've had a Miele for 14 years before the powerhead burned up. Decided to invest in a new one as 225 for a powerhead was a gamble on one that old. I like to use a vacuum rather than a dust mop, and I have carpet as well. Did a bit of research and decided this one was the one for me. I did keep my old swivel parquet floor attachment as it fits. haven't used the floor head that came with this one much, so jury is still out. The new powerhead is HEAVY. Takes a while to learn to maneuver it well, but it really gets the deep pile carpet cleaner. Love the longer cord and hose. Overall, happy with the Miele Guard1. The only reason for the 4 stars is because it does take muscle to work the powerhead. Quieter than my old one, which is pleasing to husband.

Porsche of vacuum cleaners
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
The Miele Guard L1 Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner is the Porsche of vacuum cleaners. I have owned numerous vacuum cleaners over the years. This Miele Guard L1 tops them all. My last vacuum cleaner was an Electrolux canister vacuum cleaner, excellent vacuum which still works after 20 years, but not even close "especially the suction power" to this new Miele Guard L1 Bagged Canister Vacuum cleaner.
Let's hope it last as long as the Electrolux.

Ultimately less expensive than cheaper brands. Works much better, too.
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Expensive but worth it. I used to buy Kenmore's like this and had to take them in every two years to get fixed. The vacuum guy in our town told me that I was wasting money because the Meile (Rhymes with Sheila he said) was so much sturdier and lasted so much longer. I bought the lower end Meile and have never gone back. That first model lasted 10 years with no problems and I traded it in for the model C. That has lasted 20 years and needed work as my kids weren't as respectful with it as they should. I just bought this newer model due to reviews and I am very satisfied. I was able to find a new model that had the box bumped and crumpled. The vacuum is completely fine. The suction is dreamy, the power cord that turns on the rug attachment is encased in the wand so dog hair doesn't get tangled in it. My single wish is that there were more metal parts as plastic ages and cracks. Metal would increase weight. My engineer husband is totally satisfied and looks for opportunities to vacuum. Hard to be mad about that! 😉
