Allclear Audio Symphony One

Product Overview

The Allclear Audio Symphony One is a high-end purist passive preamplifier designed for listeners who value absolute signal transparency and uncompromised musical fidelity. Rather than relying on traditional active gain circuitry, the Symphony One uses an advanced Transformer Volume Control (TVC) architecture to preserve the integrity of the incoming audio signal while delivering exceptional dynamics, resolution, and tonal purity.

Built around custom-wound Super Permalloy transformers and an ultra-clean isolated control system, the Symphony One eliminates many of the coloration, distortion, and noise artifacts commonly associated with conventional preamplifiers. The result is a refined listening experience with effortless detail retrieval, expansive sound staging, and natural musical flow.

Pure Passive TVC Architecture

At the heart of the Symphony One is its Transformer Volume Control design, which replaces conventional resistor-based attenuation with precision transformer-stepped control. This approach maintains excellent channel balance and optimal impedance matching across the full volume range while preserving low-level detail and dynamic contrast.

Unlike many passive preamps that can struggle to drive certain amplifiers, the Symphony One uniquely incorporates native +6dB gain by selectively switching transformer primary windings. This enables stronger system compatibility and improved drive capability without introducing active amplification stages into the signal path.

Signal Purity Through Intelligent Isolation

A major focus of the Symphony One is maintaining complete separation between the delicate audio signal and all control circuitry.

Its relay switching network operates on a fully isolated DC control system dedicated solely to volume selection, input switching, and display functions. By physically and electrically separating these systems from the audio path, the Symphony One minimizes interference and preserves signal integrity.

The internal audio layout further reinforces this philosophy through meticulous point-to-point silver-plated wiring, reducing unnecessary connections and eliminating the clutter and signal contamination often found in traditional passive designs.

Premium Components & Engineering

Every component inside the Symphony One has been selected for sonic transparency, reliability, and long-term performance.

Custom Super Permalloy Transformers

The custom-wound transformers utilize exotic Super Permalloy cores chosen for their extremely low distortion characteristics and exceptionally linear frequency response. Their wide bandwidth performance allows the Symphony One to reproduce music with remarkable openness, precision, and extension.

Military-Grade Relay System

Input and volume switching are handled by high-reliability relays rated for millions of operations, ensuring silent, crackle-free performance over years of use.

Ultra-Clean Power Delivery

The included iFi silent power supply delivers ultra-low-noise DC power exclusively for the control and relay circuits. Because the audio signal remains entirely passive and isolated from the PSU, the Symphony One achieves battery-like noise performance without contaminating the audio path.

Connectivity

The Symphony One provides:

  • 4 line-level inputs
  • 1 stereo output
  • Remote-controlled input selection
  • Remote-controlled volume adjustment
  • Mute functionality

This minimalist layout reflects the unit’s focus on signal purity and ease of integration into high-performance stereo systems.

Build & Physical Presence

Crafted from a substantial precision-machined chassis, the Symphony One weighs 6.5kg, giving it the solid, resonance-controlled feel expected from a reference-grade audio component. Its robust construction contributes not only to durability, but also to mechanical stability and vibration resistance for optimal sonic performance.

Dimensions

  • Width: 365mm
  • Depth: 213mm
  • Height: 113mm

The compact yet substantial footprint allows the Symphony One to integrate elegantly into both modern minimalist systems and traditional high-end audio racks.

Industrial Design & User Experience

Designed to function both as an audiophile component and a tactile centrepiece, the Symphony One features a refined chassis construction paired with a premium heavy-duty aluminium remote control.

The remote itself is precision-machined and fitted with long-life tactile switches for confident operation and durability. Every interaction—from volume adjustment to input switching—has been engineered to feel deliberate, precise, and substantial.

Designed for the Purest Listening Systems

The Allclear Audio Symphony One is intended for discerning listeners seeking maximum transparency without the sonic footprint of active circuitry. By combining transformer-based attenuation, isolated control systems, exotic magnetic materials, and meticulous construction, it delivers a highly resolved and natural presentation that remains faithful to the source.

Videos

"The sound from the Symphony One to my ears is just as good as whatever has gone into it. It makes the overall hi-fi system sound better by not making it sound worse."

"..if you want a preamp that sounds that good in the sense that it doesn't sound like anything at all, then keep your eyes and ears out for the Allclear Symphony One"

Great way to keep your PC off the floor, especially with a standing desk
This mount is a great solution if you want to get your desktop tower off the floor and clean up the space around your desk. The construction feels very solid and once installed it holds the PC securely without any wobble. I like that the frame is adjustable so it can fit different case sizes, and the open design allows for good airflow while still supporting the case well. It is especially helpful if you have a standing desk. Keeping the tower mounted under the desk means all of the cables move with the desk when it raises or lowers, which makes everything much cleaner and easier to manage. Installation takes a little planning to line things up correctly, but once it is mounted it feels very secure. If you want a cleaner workspace and a better setup for a standing desk, this mount works really well.

Built Like a Tank… Maybe Too Big
This thing is solid. The build quality is exactly what you want when you’re hanging a PC under a desk—sturdy steel, secure mounting, and plenty of adjustability to fit larger cases. It definitely does its job of getting your tower off the floor and out of the way. That said, size matters here—and this is built for big cases. If your setup is more compact, it is overkill. Definitely measure before you commit, because while the adjustability is nice, it’s clearly designed with larger towers in mind. Pros: Very sturdy, confidence-inspiring build Adjustable to fit a wide range of larger PC cases Keeps PC off the floor (less dust, more space) Can mount under desk or on wall Cons: Oversized for smaller or mid-sized builds Requires careful measuring before install Bulkier than some alternative mounts Bottom Line: A heavy-duty mount that does exactly what it promises—just make sure your PC actually needs something this big before you commit.

My god
Build Quality The steel construction is very solid and feels durable enough to support a desktop tower or similar device. The powder-coated finish also helps protect against scratches. Comfort / Ergonomics Mounting a PC under the desk helps free up floor space and improves overall desk organization. It also keeps the computer elevated away from dust and improves airflow. Features The adjustable frame allows it to fit a variety of PC sizes, which makes it versatile. The mounting brackets feel strong and secure once installed. Ease of Use / Installation Installation requires basic tools but is fairly simple. Once mounted, the adjustable brackets make it easy to secure the computer in place. Cleaning / Maintenance Keeping the PC off the floor makes cleaning around your desk easier and helps reduce dust buildup in the computer itself. Overall Impression This mount is a great solution for anyone wanting a cleaner desk setup. It’s sturdy, adjustable, and keeps your computer safely mounted under the desk. Excellent for improving workspace organization.

Rock Solid and Computer / Wall Safe! Last PC Mount you'll ever need.
This is the hardware that you want in your office: robust, no-nonsense, and able to boss you around its workload. I installed a full size PC case/server in it, and it is rock solid once you lock it in. The open-frame design also merits a mention here as it greatly improves airflow and allows you to access ports on the motherboards and other hardware on your rig should you want to during your gaming sessions without bringing too much heat inside and causing headaches. The width of the holder can be adjusted (approximately 7.7” through 11.8”) in width and (approximately 20” through 25.8”) in height so it fits a large variety of towers, so you don't have to worry whether it could fit your set-up or not. Smaller towers may have substantially more wiggle room though. The mount's weight limit is no joke—up to 44 lbs—so you're not sacrificing stability just to save a few bucks. The shells are quite secure, although some people may have wished for a little more tightening bite; they still prevent your equipment from falling off if you accidentally bump on a wall, which is more important than you may think. A little nitpick: the lower wall-mount bracket could have a couple of extra pilot holes to reduce twisting over time. Not a breaker, just a heads-up for all of you who are looking to the long term. Altogether, it's a reliable, solid fix that is well worth the cost, particularly if you're cramming space and airflow in a tight configuration.

Best for a large PC case, works on smaller towers with mods
This thing is solid! I strongly recommend setting your tower on it to get a feel for the orientation you want before attaching it to your desk or wall. I had to re-mount mine because I had it positioned too far back to be able to plug cables into the PC tower. When the ad says its for a large PC tower they are not joking. I would consider my PC case to be a fairly average size but the bottom clamp and side arms don't hold my case at all. Theres a z shaped bracket included to attach to the main support and let it contact the desk or wall surface behind it. I used this part to wedge between the bottom clamp snd my PC case to hold it in place. My mount is still very sturdy without that bracket in place. I cheated during install and stacked some books under it to bring it up to the height of the bottom of my desk, made easy work of it. I really want to give it 5 stars but unfortunately the fitment issue leaves me hanging, literally. Maybe I will update my rig and get a larger PC case down the road. What I love about this item is my tower used to be on my desktop. Now its tucked away neatly and I was able to separate my 2 monitors more. Feels like a whole new workspace with less clutter and more table space for projects. Good item.
