Pro-Tip: As the diameter of a Forstner bit increases, the speed of the drill should decrease. For a 1-5/8" bit, run your drill at a lower RPM to prevent the bit from overheating and scorching the wood. If drilling deep holes, lift the bit out occasionally to clear the chips.
