Male Bettas are bold, colourful feature fish with strong personality and striking finnage. They do best as a single showcase fish in warm, stable water with gentle flow and plenty of hiding places. This variety is known for oversized pectoral fins ('dumbo' ears).

Origin: Captive-bred variety of the Siamese fighting fish, originally from Southeast Asia’s warm, shallow, slow-moving waters.

Feeding: Carnivorous—offer a high-protein betta pellet or micro-granule as a staple, supplemented with frozen/live foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworm in small portions.

Tank Mates: Best kept alone or with peaceful, non-nippy tank mates in a suitably sized, well-planted aquarium (temperament varies). Avoid fin-nippers and do not house with other bettas; snails are usually safe and shrimp may be hunted.
