Purpose-Built Remote Control Cable for Skylla-i Charger Integration

The Victron Skylla-i Remote On-Off Cable is designed for clean, reliable integration between a Victron Skylla-i battery charger and a VE.Bus BMS. In managed battery systems—especially lithium installations—having the charger respond correctly to the BMS is critical for protecting the battery and maintaining a stable DC system. This cable provides the correct connection method so the BMS can control the Skylla-i’s remote on/off function as intended.

When connected, the VE.Bus BMS can disable the Skylla-i charger when the batteries reach the BMS-defined full/stop condition. That helps reduce the risk of overcharging behaviour, improves system automation, and supports a more consistent charge management workflow—ideal for off-grid power, marine electrical systems, caravans, and commercial DC installations where the charger is expected to follow system-level control.

Why This Cable Matters in a BMS-Controlled System

Many charging issues in modern battery setups come from mismatched control wiring or improvised connections. Using the correct Victron accessory cable helps ensure the remote control signal is delivered with minimal guesswork, supporting a dependable handover of control from charger to BMS. For installers and technically minded users, this means faster commissioning, a neater install, and fewer troubleshooting steps later.

This is particularly relevant in Australian conditions where systems often experience wide temperature swings and variable loads (inverters, fridges, comms, pumps). A BMS-managed stop/start control strategy can help keep charging behaviour aligned with battery requirements and system design limits.

Key Features

  • Designed for Skylla-i chargers requiring remote on/off control wiring
  • Interfaces with VE.Bus BMS for automated charger enable/disable control
  • Supports cleaner installations than custom wiring by using a purpose-built Victron accessory
  • Helps reduce charging conflicts in BMS-controlled battery systems

Typical Applications

  • Caravan and RV auxiliary power systems with BMS-controlled charging
  • Marine house battery systems where charger control is managed centrally
  • Off-grid power rooms and industrial DC sites using Victron integration
  • Upgrade projects where the Skylla-i must follow lithium battery protection logic

Installation Notes

This cable is intended specifically to connect a Skylla-i to a VE.Bus BMS for remote on/off control. Confirm compatibility with your exact charger/BMS model and follow Victron wiring recommendations for best results.

Complete Your Skylla-i + VE.Bus BMS Integration

If you’re building or upgrading a Victron-managed battery system, add the Skylla-i Remote On-Off Cable to streamline BMS control of your charger and support a more orderly, serviceable installation.

The Epson F170 has been ideal for getting started with sublimation. It's easy to use, prints vibrant and defined colors, and has allowed me to personalize various projects with excellent results. As a beginner, it has given me a lot of confidence to learn and create without complications. I definitely recommend it for anyone starting out in sublimation.

No returns and no support. If it doesn't work properly, too bad.
Style: Printer & Inks, Style: Printer & Inks
I was fairly happy with my Epson ET 2800, but was told that I'd get better colors with the F170. So I bit the bullet. The installation went smoothly and I was printing in short order. It was when I started printing items that had some dark gray that I noticed the problem. It was printing green. I contacted Epson tech support and they answered the phone almost immediately. (And how rare is that??) The woman I spoke with seemed to be familiar with the problem and advised me to modify the printer preferences and change the color correction from "ICM" to "No color correction". Well, it wasn't printing green anymore. Now the grays were brown. At this point, she ran out of ideas and gave me an email address for the second level of tech support and asked if I'd send a photo of the printed fabrics showing the problem. I did. That was over three weeks ago. I've sent a couple of followup emails, but they're ignoring me. But the best news was discovering that there are no returns on this product. I didn't think that was a thing with Amazon and I've never had any problems before. So now the 30-day return window is about to elapse and it appears that I'm stuck with an oversized doorstop. In the photo I'm including with this review, the fabric on the upper-left was printed with my Epson ET 2800. On the upper right, the F170 with ICM color correction. On the bottom, the F170 with no color correction.

Epson SureColor F170 Sublimation Printer Rocks!
Style: Printer & Inks, Style: Printer & Inks
TI’m a newbie at sublimation, and this is my first sublimation printer. I love it! I can’t wait to make more things! I like that it’s not too large, but still can print up to 8.5x14”. The quality seems to be really good, but I also don’t have any other printer to compare it to. This was my very first project! I’m very happy with it so far!
