Inspired by the magical tales of chivalric heroism from Arthurian Legend, this eye-catching set of crushed stone resin chess pieces will make a wonderful gift for any occasion.
Arthur, the legendary English King, was the son of Uther Pendragon and featured in countless poems and stories of chivalry which have captivated audiences for centuries. The French poet and troubadour Chrétien de Troyes authored many tales of Arthur and his knights of Camelot. These 12th-century stories gave birth to the romantic idea of chivalry and paved the way for endless other writers, poets and artists to create their spin on the Knights Of The Round Table.
From the pre-Raphaelite poets and painters such as Tennyson and Waterhouse in the 19th century, to the world of 20th-century theatre and cinema, including Camelot and Excalibur, these wonderful stories of the mystical world of Arthur and Merlin are enjoyed to this day.
These exquisite carved chessmen are finished with a rich red and cream colouring, and are sure to look incredible anywhere in the home!
