The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol believed to be an effective source of protection and a symbol of strength and perfection. The symbols surrounding the eye of Horus are those of the planets in the universe and the stars that circle the eye of Horus and send all of the power that is that was and that will be into the symbol of the eye of Horus “I have come, I bring you the Eye of Horus, so that your heart may be refreshed by it.” Horus was the ancient Egyptian sky god who was usually depicted as a falcon, or with a Falcon’s head. The eye is personified in the goddess Wadjet also known as “The Eye of Ra,” which originates from the struggle between Horus and Seth. In the said fight, Horus loses his left eye which is taken by Seth, but then Horus acquires spiritual sight, the eye of light. The eye was later healed by Thoth and returned to Horus which is now known as Wadjet. The Eye of Horus, in fact, is in all of us. It is represented as a figure with six parts corresponding to our six senses – touch, taste, hearing, thought, sight, and smell. More so, The Right Eye of Horus represents concrete information controlled by the left brain. It deals with words, letters, and numbers and those things which are describable in terms of sentences or complete thoughts. It approaches the universe in terms of male oriented ideation. The Left Eye of Horus, on the other hand, represents abstract aesthetic information controlled by the right brain. It deals with esoteric thoughts and feelings and is responsible for intuition. It approaches the universe in terms of female oriented ideation. We use the Left Eye, female oriented, right side of our brain for feeling and intuition.
