In the distance a number of booms, sail across a wind-rippled ocean. The two nearest booms fly three sails, the first from the bow, the second from the main mast, and the third from the rear mast. This image was taken during Wilfred Thesiger's May 18-28, 1948 journey by dhow from Dubai to Bahrain Island.
