Secure a Rock-Solid Foundation with the Extreme Impact and Industrial Durability of the PR60H Premium Rammer

The Third Coast Equipment PR60H Premium Rammer is a heavy-duty compaction powerhouse designed for contractors who demand elite performance in the most challenging confined-space environments. Driven by the industry-leading Honda GXR120 engine—specifically engineered to endure the high-vibration vertical cycles of vibratory rammers—this machine generates an impressive 3,147 lbf of impact force. With a 3.4-inch jump height and a high-speed cycle of 700 blows per minute, the PR60H penetrates deep into cohesive soils and mixed aggregates, ensuring maximum density for utility trenches, structural backfilling, and sub-base preparation for curbs or foundations. Its slim 13.6-inch profile provides unmatched maneuverability in restricted areas where larger plate compactors cannot operate.

Engineered for a lower total cost of ownership, the PR60H features an innovative aircraft-grade lifting cable system. Unlike standard rammers that lift via handle shock mounts—causing rubber degradation and premature failure—the PR60H lifts through the main frame to protect critical vibration isolation components. Maintenance is simplified through a two-stage air filtration system featuring a washable and reusable primary element, shielding the high-performance Honda motor from abrasive site dust. Reinforced with rugged side and bottom steel engine guards and a specialized hybrid shoe that dampens operator vibration while resisting extreme weather, the PR60H is built to outlast and out-compact anything in its 159 lb weight class.

Key Features

  • Frame-Integrated Lifting Cable: Features a flexible, aircraft-grade cable that bypasses handle shock mounts to prevent premature wear and increase machine longevity.
  • Honda GXR120 Power: Equipped with a 4 HP engine specifically engineered for the high-intensity vertical movement required for jumping jack compactors.
  • Extreme Compaction Force: Delivers a massive 3,147 lbf of impact force and 700 BPM to achieve specified soil density in fewer passes.
  • Dual-Stage Air Filtration: High-efficiency system keeps engine air clean; includes a washable first-stage element to reduce long-term maintenance costs.
  • Rugged Steel Guarding: Heavy-duty side and bottom engine guards protect vital components from job site impacts and debris.
  • Weather-Resistant Hybrid Shoe: Steel bottom shoe with a plastic core provides the perfect balance of vibration dampening and industrial durability.
  • Optimized Jump Height: A 3.4-inch stroke ensures deep-cycle compaction even in difficult, moisture-heavy clay soils.

Pro-Tip: Because the PR60H delivers such high impact force (over 3100 lbf), it is crucial to keep the rammer vertical during operation to prevent uneven wear on the shoe bellows. In heavy clay, use a "walk-back" technique where you allow the machine to pull itself forward while you lightly guide it; this allows the impact to cycle through the soil layers more effectively than forcing the machine manually.

Wise Advice for the College-Bound Student
Format: Kindle
I read this book after reading Newport's other study guide How to Become a Straight A Student and was looking forward to more of his easy to understand, quickly read nuggets of wisdom. Although I found the advice in his previous book to be more helpful, I did fine some words of advice that I will surely put to use in my upcoming semester. Among the gems I found, Newport reminds students to "Study in Fifty-Minute Chunks" and "Learn to Listen." In these short chapters there are ideas to help the student better utilize their time by minimizing distractions and knowing exactly what to listen for in a lecture. By far my favorite and most memorable line from this book is "A good analogy is that writing is to a college student what shooting hoops is to a basketball player." Wise advice indeed. I would recommend this book to high school an college students alike. The chapters are short and jam packed with good advice.

Good for some
Format: Paperback
Good advice but it's written for college students that don't work. Not for someone who goes to night school like I do.

An excellent story well worth a read
Format: Kindle
This was so well written, I loved every second of it. It was a lovely take on vampires and what they are or can be. Spoilers: This wasn’t an easy read for me. How Miyako’s parents acted… that was my parents only worse in a lot of ways and only better in that they never hit me as an adolescent. So reading this brought up memories of the abuse I suffered. Even so, it is a really good story and I highly recommend. I hope to read more of her stories soon and follow Miyako and see how she and her family grow as characters.
