Special Tribute to Garry Marshall: The reboot of The Odd Couple paid homage to legendary producer and creator Garry Marshall, who developed the original TV series based on Neil Simon's play. Garry himself made a memorable guest appearance in the second season episode “Madison & Son” playing Oscar’s father Walter, adding a touch of nostalgia for fans. Following is death in 2016, as a nod to his enduring legacy, a special tribute episode “Taffy Days” was created and it featured several actors from Marshall’s ’70 hits Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and Mork & Mindy. In the episode, Oscar decides to fulfill the last request of his late father Walter and scatter his ashes in the river behind the candy factory that Walter once co-owned with his business partner Patty (Garry’s real-life sister Penny Marshall), even though Walter and Patty had not spoken to each other for over 30 years. Along the way, Oscar and Felix meet a number of characters played by Ron Howard, Marion Ross, Cindy Williams, Pam Dawber, Don Most, and Anson Williams. The episode served as a reminder of his remarkable contributions to television comedy and his lasting impact on the world of entertainment.
