In Hostage Negotiator, you step into the role of a law enforcement agent responsible for negotiating the release of hostages held by an unscrupulous figure determined to have their demands met. Each turn represents a tense conversation between you and the Hostage Taker. You'll play cards and roll dice to gain Conversation Points, lower the Threat level, and work toward releasing hostages.

Hostage Negotiator features a unique "Hand-Building" mechanic, where the cards you purchase go directly into your hand for the next turn, rather than waiting for them to show up as in traditional deck-building games. There are multiple paths to victory: will you try to calm the Hostage Taker and persuade them to surrender, or will you stall for time and prepare for a Major Extraction? The choices are yours, but the Hostage Taker has other plans. How many hostages will you save? These are just some of the thrilling decisions you'll face in Hostage Negotiator!
