“Книга про Дао і Де” (“Дао Де Цзин”) - це книга про Шлях і про властивості людської природи, яка поряд із трактатом “Луньюй”, складеним учнями Конфуція, належить до найшанованіших і разом з тим найзагадковіших творінь китайської літератури. Зустрічаються також варіанти його назви: 'Канон шляху і благодаті', 'Книга про шлях та силу', а також 'Три вози' (бо написаний він був на бамбукових дощечках, що займали три вози).

Цей класичний філософський твір давнього Китаю, приписаний легендарному мудрецю Лао-цзи (VI — V століття до н. е.), є важливим джерелом традиції даосизму. Книга “Дао Де Цзин” — це водночас і поема, що має своєрідну ритмічну організацію, і філософський трактат. Текст написаний афористичним поетичним стилем. Через це, та ще через складність тлумачення основних категорій твору, існує можливість різних за змістом та формою перекладів. Переклад з класичної китайської Ірини Костанди.
