Pro-Tip: When creating inlays, it is often best to cut your groove slightly shallower than the thickness of your inlay material (or conversely, make your inlay strip slightly thicker than the groove depth). This allows the inlay to sit slightly "proud" of the surface. Once the adhesive cures, you can sand the inlay flush for a seamless, smooth transition that looks like a single piece of material.
