This exceptional workbench comes from a professional modeler’s or cabinetmaker’s workshop and once belonged to a modeler—an artisan working between wood and metal. This piece is made of solid wood, with a solid oak top that has been waxed and showcases a striking patina. It includes the original forged iron vices, as well as a basin for measuring and molding.

Included with the bench is a small group of original tools, among them specialized plane irons, a cast iron modeling device, and a wooden square stamped “AL BRUCHER,” likely the name of the craftsman who once owned and used this set. Together, these elements form a cohesive and evocative ensemble—more than a single object, it is a preserved fragment of a working studio. A storage space below has a working lock and key. A beautiful and amazing feat of woodworking. Today, the piece transcends its utilitarian origins.
