Ditch the points and condenser for good with the PerTronix Ignitor. Designed specifically for 1968–1973 VW Type 1 engines equipped with Vacuum Advance distributors, this electronic ignition conversion kit is the ultimate upgrade for reliability and performance. By replacing mechanical points with this solid-state system, you eliminate the need for constant dwell adjustments and tune-ups.
The Ignitor is a self-contained, "stealth" unit that fits entirely under your distributor cap, maintaining a clean, period-correct look while delivering modern ignition technology. It provides twice the voltage to your spark plugs, ensuring quicker starts, smoother idling, and improved throttle response.
Key Performance Features:
-
Adaptive Dwell Technology: Automatically maintains peak energy throughout the entire RPM range, reducing misfires and optimizing engine performance.

Engineered for Vacuum Advance: Specifically timed and calibrated for stock-style vacuum advance distributors used in 1968–1973 air-cooled models.
-
