Bacopa Complex is an herbal supplement for memory, focus, and cognition which contains Bacopa, Schisandra, Eleuthero and the essential oil of Rosemary.

These herbs have been traditionally used in herbal preparations to:

  • Promote mental clarity and support healthy cognitive function*
  • Support normal memory function*
  • Support physical endurance during times of mild fatigue/weakness*
  • Ease the effects of temporary and occasional stress*
  • Support healthy memory and concentration as a brain tonic*

These herbs contribute key phytochemicals to the blend such as dammarane saponins, other saponins, flavonoids, sterols, dibenzocyclooctene lignans, a diverse group of constituents called eleutherosides, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. This tablet contains two herbs with standardized levels of key phytochemicals to ensure optimal strength and quality. The Bacopa component is standardized to contain 37.1 mg of bacosides (a saponin mixture) per tablet, and the Eleuthero component contains 400 mcg of syringaresinol diglucosides per tablet.

MediHerb® Bacopa Complex is a well-considered formulation that combines herbal extracts from Bacopa herb, Schisandra fruit, Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng) root, and Rosemary leaf essential oil. The extracts of Bacopa and Eleuthero, as the primary ingredients in this formulation are standardized (laboratory tested to quality standards) to ensure that an optimal amount of important constituents, namely bacosides and eleutherosides, are provided. Traditionally used, the herbs in this formulation help to support normal cognitive (mental) functions, healthy memory and concentration during everyday stress.

Herbal Adaptogens and How They Support Mental Clarity During Everyday Stress

Normal day-to-day stress affects people of all ages from all walks of life. While stress is a normal part of life, it may affect normal cognitive function to a certain degree, such as healthy memory and concentration (see Figure 1).1

This is where herbal adaptogens can prove very useful. Known for their influence on the body, adaptogens can support the body’s resistance to transient stress and improve its ability to adapt to temporary challenging circumstances.2 This means our stress response can be improved so it is much closer to a normal balanced state (also known as ‘homeostasis’).

Moreover, as adaptogens typically work in non-specific ways, they can target multiple normal body functions, such as mental and physical performance at once.3 This makes adaptogens particularly useful for older people, students and those in mentally demanding professions.

How Bacopa Complex Supports Your Health:

Bacopa, otherwise known by its Sanskrit name ‘Brahmi,’ is an ancient Ayurvedic herb that has been used in India for almost 3000 years.Classical Ayurvedic texts recommend it as a brain or cognition enhancing nerve tonic to promote memory and general performance.6-7 It is particularly useful in promoting memory function in healthy older people.*

Eleuthero is arguably the most well-known and highly regarded adaptogen in traditional herbal preparations. As all adaptogens, it acts in a nonspecific way and has a normalizing action on the body.It improves our ability to adapt to temporary or occasional stress, eases its effects on the body, and supports mental and physical endurance.9-12*

Schisandra, predominantly used in traditional Chinese preparations,7,13 gained considerable popularity as an adaptogen in the USSR in the early 1960s.14 Like Eleuthero, it is used traditionally to help bolster the body’s resistance to occasional stress, improve stress adaptation, as well as mental and physical endurance.9*

The dogs like it very much, it produces a lot of noise.
Size: Large, Size: Large
I’m rating this based on my dogs’ response to this toy – they absolutely love it, and it has seen more use without damage than any of their regular throwing toys. At the same time, unless you enjoy, REALLY ENJOY the sound of crunching water bottles, you may not like having this ball in the house. Pros: The rubber outer shell of the ball is durable, and can survive both chewing and pulling forces (as a note, my dogs do not concentrate on chewing - they use it more for play games). It’s big enough for my dogs to play tug of war with it, hooking their teeth in the mesh, and they since it bounces around if they drop or kick it, it makes the game more interesting than rope. They did crush the interior plastic, but they don't really seem to care. It’s much more engaging than a normal ball, and can be modified to hold treats, sticks, rope elements and other external bits, which my shepherd mix loves; he gets bored easily and frequently, and this can actually entertain him. Cons: This toy is loud, and produces repetitive crunching sounds. It is apparently really engaging to chew, and my dogs will produce the horrid plastic crackling up to half an hour at a time. If you let your dogs in and out, it would make a fine outdoor toy, but since I have a dog door, it migrates around to pretty much wherever the dogs are. I kind of hate it, but will probably buy another if they break this one since they enjoy it so much.

Very durable and my Heeler's fave inside toy
Size: Large
My red Heeler loves these balls, second only to Tennis balls but she destroys those within minutes and they are outside only. This is her inside ball. She is hard on toys and has the strongest bite of any dog I've had (shepherds, collies, weimaraners, retrievers, Labs) yet these continue to last. She catches the ball, we play tug of war with it (she places it in hand hand and pulls only when I have a firm grip, she shakes it and flings it. The rubber outside even outlasts the water-bottle like plastic piece inside. Steps holds the ball with her foot and pulls on the rubber with her mouth, stretching it to sometimes twice its size. I pull while shes pulling. This thing gets abused daily and keeps on going. Its the most used toy and she brings it to me to play with every day. Each ball lasts about 6 months before the inside ball is toast and the outer rubber is finally starting to tear/break. which for me in an incredibly long time. If this ball is available to play, she wants it over all others. Shes NEVER gotten a piece off to actually swallow and that alone is worth the price.

Great ball but easily broken
Size: Large
I got this ball for my two dogs, one is a 90 pound yellow lab mix and the other 45 pound black lab mix. So far only my bigger dog has played with it and has also busted it. He was playing with it for probably half an hour just chomping down to make it crinkle and crunch. It's quite the loud ball!! I noticed the sound wasn't as loud so I took a peek and noticed my dog basically crushed the inner ball into a much smaller ball. He's still having a good time with it though. It's only a matter of time though that he's going to chew the outer shell because it doesn't make noise like it did.
