Restore Your Ride Quality with Premium Replacement Torsion Leaves

Whether you are assembling a brand-new stock-width lowered beam or looking to freshen up the suspension in your factory stock beam, these replacement torsion leaves are the essential foundation for a smooth and controlled ride. Designed specifically for standard-width link pin front ends, these leaves provide the necessary spring rate and structural integrity required for classic air-cooled performance.

  • Fitment: Standard Width, Link Pin Front Beams.

  • Part Number: 98-4540-B.

  • Application: Ideal for both lowered and stock-height applications.

  • Quality: High-strength spring steel construction for long-lasting durability.

Note: For a complete front-end overhaul, two sets of leaves are required per beam (one for the upper tube and one for the lower tube).

Installation Guide

  1. Preparation: Safely lift the front of the vehicle and support it with jack stands. Remove the front wheels and disconnect the shocks and steering linkage.

  2. Removal: Loosen the center grub screw (lock screw) on each beam tube. Carefully slide out the old torsion leaf stacks from the beam. You may need to remove the trailing arms first to access the leaves.

  3. Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the inside of the beam tubes and trailing arm sockets of old grease and debris.

  4. Greasing: Apply a generous amount of high-quality chassis grease to the new leaf stacks. Ensuring the leaves are well-lubricated is critical to preventing squeaks and ensuring smooth suspension travel.

  5. Insertion: Slide the new leaf stacks into the beam tubes. Align the center of the leaf stack with the center block of the beam.

  6. Securement: Reinstall the center grub screws and jam nuts. Torque them to the manufacturer's specifications.

  7. Reassembly: Reinstall the trailing arms, ensuring the leaf ends seat correctly into the arm sockets. Reattach the steering linkage, shocks, and wheels.

  8. Final Check: Lower the vehicle and bounce the front end to settle the suspension before performing a final torque check and professional alignment.

Squeaky toy doesn’t squeak.
I have a Shih Tzu who loved to kill his stuffies. But they need squeakers. The elephant has a defective squeaky. But before I could put it away to return he jumped up and took off with it. Maybe it’ll last longer.
