Je krijgt niet eeuwig de tijd om je onderzoek te voltooien, want er tikt altijd een klokje in het scherm mee. Voordat de teller op nul staat, moet jij alle clues hebben gevonden. Gelukkig kun je de 'stop bonus' inzetten om de tijd tijdelijk te pauzeren en mag je een hint opvragen als je echt vast komt te zetten.
Mystery Stories: Island of Hope bevat tien verschillende unieke spelmodi waarin je meer dan 1150 unieke clues en voorwerpen zult aantreffen. Er zijn zo'n 85 levels aanwezig aanwezig die je speurvermogen behoorlijk op de proef stellen.
