Na plaatsing zet het band gecontroleerd uit en vult de voeg volledig, waardoor een wind- en regendichte afdichting ontstaat. Tegelijk blijft het materiaal dampopen en blijvend elastisch, zodat het bewegingen in de constructie probleemloos kan volgen. De zwarte kleur zorgt voor een nette, neutrale afwerking, ook bij zichtwerk.
