Very image detailed, thorough history of WW II told through maps

World War II Map by Map (DK History Map by Map) is a visually striking and informative guide to the pivotal events of World War II. Through detailed maps, the book offers a unique perspective on the war’s key battles, strategies, and turning points, providing a clear and accessible way to understand the conflict’s complex geography. Accompanied by concise descriptions and timelines, this book serves as both an educational resource and a compelling visual history. It is ideal for readers seeking a deeper understanding of the war’s global impact without feeling overwhelmed by text-heavy narratives. A must-have for history enthusiasts and visual learners alike.

Entertaining, informative, without being overwhelming.
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Got it for, basically, half-off standard retail. At that price, it's a fine addition to the WWII library. Some interesting information displayed in a mostly entertaining way. I get that battle maps are always a challenge (maps are static - battles are dynamic). This does a fairly adequate job - better than most battle maps - though far from groundbreaking. item arrived well packed - no issues with binding (as some others seem to report). Though the book overall is a bit "warped" and several of the maps are mis-printed or mis-cut as to make them unusable. 3 bad out of 300 - not horrible - again at the price I paid. If the subject interest you - I'd suggest getting - but not a "must have".

For the history buff or student - this is worth the purchase
Format: Hardcover
Detailed, individual maps and history on the battles of World War II. It isn’t too overwhelming for the student and is an enjoyable read for the history buff. Hardback so it will ensure lots of reading and reviews, durable pages too (not those thin, flimsy, easily tearable pages!) - this book will likely stand the test of our schooling years and beyond.
