Deze prachtige wijn is afkomstig van het gerenommeerde wijnhuis Lenotti, opgericht in 1906. Lenotti heeft een uitstekende reputatie in de Veneto-regio in Noord-Italië en is gevestigd in het beroemde wijndorp Bardolino, ten westen van het Gardameer. De druiven voor de Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso Le Crosare worden geteeld in de heuvels rond de dorpen Fumane, Negrar en Valgatara. De bodem bestaat uit kalk en klei, achtergelaten door rivieren en gletsjers. Het Valpolicella-gebied wordt ook wel 'De Parel van Verona' genoemd.

Productieproces Lenotti Valpolicella Ripasso Le Crosare

De term "Superiore" staat voor wijnen die minimaal één jaar houtlagering hebben ondergaan en een alcoholgehalte van minimaal 12% hebben. "Le Crosare" betekent dat deze wijn in beperkte hoeveelheden wordt geproduceerd met geselecteerde druiven. De Ripasso-techniek houdt in dat de jonge wijn in januari of februari een tweede gisting ondergaat door toevoeging van Amarone-schillen, die in deze periode van ingedroogde druiven worden geproduceerd. Dit zorgt ervoor dat Le Crosare meer kleur, smaak en kracht krijgt. De rijping van minimaal 12 maanden in hout zorgt voor verfijning. Deze heerlijke wijn heeft een dieprode kleur en aroma's van rijpe kersen. De rode wijn past uitstekend bij gebraad, gegrild vlees of een kaasplankje.
