De Tech-2 is zowel maintained (continu) als non-maintained (enkel in geval van nood) te gebruiken.
Bij uitvallen van de stroom bij een noodsituatie is het het van belang dat de lamp blijft functioneren en overschakelt naar de ACCU, Het is in Nederland vereist dat een noodverlichtingsarmatuur minimaal één uur kan blijven branden op de accu. Deze noodverlichtingsarmatuur blijft maar liefst 3 uur branden.
