De Panthella werd oorspronkelijk ontworpen in 1971 door Verner Panton in samenwerking met Louis Poulsen. Het is een uitzonderlijk ontwerp dat niet alleen de speelse stijl van Panton weerspiegelt, maar ook organische vormen gebruikt om uitzonderlijk licht te creëren. De halfronde kap richt het grootste deel van het licht naar beneden, waar het wordt gereflecteerd door het trompetvormige voetstuk. Dat zorgt voor zacht en diffuus licht. De Panthella 250 tafellamp is een kleinschalige versie, met een kapdiameter van 250 mm, wat hem ideaal maakt voor tal van omgevingen. Het scherm van de kleuren White, Pale Rose en Pale Blue is van Opal Acryl en laat licht door, bij de overige kleuren is het scherm van staal en straalt het licht alleen naar beneden.
