Gold filled is een Amerikaanse standaard waarbij dikte van het goud tenminste 1/20ste of 5% van het totale gewicht moet uitmaken. In een streng gecontroleerd proces wordt 14 karaats goud mechanisch door hitte en druk aan een basismetaal (meestal koper) verbonden.

Het is dus een legering en geen laagje dat er gemakkelijk afslijt. Alle gold filled onderdelen komen van gerespecteerde leveranciers.
