INSTRUCTIONS:
Boiled Seeds:
• Rinse the seeds well under running water.
• Soak for 1 to 3 hours at room temperature.
• Rinse with cold running water.
• Cook for 30 to 45 minutes.
• Allow the seeds to cool and drain.
• Provide pure or mixed with egg food or fruit.
Soaked seeds:
• Rinse the seeds well under running water.
• Soak for 6 to 24 hours at room temperature, preferably changing the water several times.
• Rinse thoroughly with cold running water.
• Allow to drain for another 1 to 3 hours if necessary.
• Provide pure or mixed with egg food or fruit.
TIPS:
You can prepare an amount of cooking food for several days, freeze it and defrost the required portion every day.
The soaking makes the grains soft, so that they are very eager to be absorbed by the birds. Soaked seeds are also easier to dehull. Feeding soaked seed mixtures has a positive influence on reproductive behavior and promotes breeding condition.
